Remarks

Overall I had a good experience and enjoyed my college life..! The college is located at a good location ie Lodhi colony with attached metro station gives you feasibility to travel and save your much time. Also, the placement cell is working quite well. It is a good college to take admission into.. just keep urself away from all politics going in college. And focus on your studies and enjoy college life..!

Entrance Preview

Dyal Singh college is one of the topmost colleges of south campus of DU..! It is NAAC credited ‘A’ grade and NIRF-2017 ALL INDIA rank is 8th..! I scored 86% as per DU (4subjects) criteria.. and was given a concession of 3% being a female candidate. At this marks, I thought it to be wise to opt for this college..!

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course curriculum is divided into 2 semesters every year..! The course curriculum makes you well versed with knowledge in the field you have opted..! Every semester consists of 4-5 subjects. The syllabus is comprehensive and varies according to courses..! The course curriculum focus on both theoretical and practical knowledge..!

Internships Opportunities

Yes.. the company visits the campus during mid-summer to provide opportunities of internships to students in their break..! The students have the opportunities to work in many NGO and get exposure to meet new people. Also, Teach India came for an internship to college last year where students gain ed an overall experience of teaching in various schools and were rewarded with good stipend around 10000 -15000 depending upon knowledge and skills..! Many others were given chance to work as content writer..!

Placement Experience

4

College placement cell is very active. The students were able to grab good opportunities with the assistance and guidance of teachers..! Many of my known friends from the senior batch were placed in different IT companies, and some of them were placed in other private companies..! Almost 80% of the people got jobs. Hopefully, the percentage reaches its maximum by the time it is over. All of my senior friends who were intelligent got placed in different places with higher salaries. In my batch, many of my friends were also placed in different sectors of the private company. Also, a group of people from my batch are running a successful startup. Around 60% - 70% of the people from my batch were placed within one year. The higher and the lower salaries that my friends got was around Rs. 17000 per month to Rs. 50,000 per month.

College Events

4

Many fests have been organized by the college. The college fest Rajnigandha is a well-known fest where students from other colleges also flock here to attend the fest. The college also organizes many talent hunt competitions from time to time. And focuses on environmental issues and encourages students to respect the environment by calling for events like “Grow Trees Save Life”!

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is quite economical as compared to other colleges of DU and as per the facilities provided by the college..! The college has the best campus and the fees are reasonable..! The college has the biggest library out of all the other colleges in the south campus where you are provided with vast varieties of books for all courses and subjects..!

Fees and Financial Aid

Foreign institutions are entering the college for scholarships.. various programmes were organized where students had the chance to win scholarships by showcasing their knowledge, innovation, and talent..! Though I have not participated in any..!

Campus Life

5

The best part of the college is its SOCIETIES like cultural societies, dance, drama etc so that students don't get bored from studies and it helps in developing their skills also..! Also, the college is the largest south campus college And a good infrastructure and a big basketball court and playground for other sports also..!

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostel facilities are not provided..! The college has a good canteen where the price is very reasonable..! The college should also start providing accommodation facilities since every year many students from out of Delhi take admission into college..! However students can take up PG nearby. Moolchand is the most preferred location nearby the college, however, PG rates are little high there..!

Alumni/Alumna

The college has set up their alumni network in 2016 so there is a lot to do in this direction..! The college has from then organized alumni meet every year. where alumni’s of the college have been invited and asked to inspire the students and talk about their college life and give guidance to the freshers and the students currently part of the college.. alumni meet have been a successful event as it gave many hopes to the students of the college and inspired them a lot and gave them opportunity to gain from the experience of their aluminides shared with them..!

Exam Structure

There is written exam of 75 marks ie external exam and another part is 25 marks internal exam which consists of projects presentations class tests and attendance marks..! Hence every subject is of 100 marks each..! One can easily score good marks in exams by devoting 4-5 hours daily a month ago the exams..!

Faculty

4.5

The facility is excellent..! The teachers are very regular and the quality of teaching is very good. They provide us with notes which are sufficient for exams and concepts are also cleared.. instead of reading a hell lot of different books for one particular subject. you can just go through by the notes which saves much time and efforts of the students as all the topics in details are provided in notes at one place.Attendance is also necessary to score good marks as those attending the classes regularly are awarded higher marks by the teachers..!

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i choose this course because I didn't got what I wanted. Many students are from arts background who got this course because they had no option. The curriculum is same as school all chapters and everything. The law section is new. About buisness and law and everything. Rest is same. Changes in curriculum is not in their hands. But if they could actually change the accounting syllabus. The timing of exams is normal 2:30 to 6:30. And internal test taken by perspective teacher are according to their time and class. They will take retest incase you didn't attended.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really was interested in finance and taxation from the beginning. This course aligned rightly with my interests. The curriculum is based on real world applications. Corporate accounting, financial accounting, company law, human resource management, these are very important considering change in the job market and business world. Not only real world applications but one can also go for further academic pursuit such as a master's degree and research. This makes the curriculum really diverse. Some areas of suggestions would be that in theory subjects there should be practical activities. Just like vestibular training. The time of exams is just right. After the completion of syllabus of a particular subject, we are given 10 days of preparation leave. The exams are moderate and it really tests our ability and knowledge based on our studies.

For placements fifth semester student are eligible for placements. Since it is best commerce college. Companies like big 4, google, bank of America, Goldman Sachs, bcg, bain and co., Sbi, paytm, meesho and many more comes. The highest package was 36 LPA this year from meesho for senior analyst roles. Average package is 10 LPA. Most of the placements take place in consulting, marketing, auditing, finance and analyst roles. Around more than 50% of the students get placed. My plan is to take placements in consulting and finance roles after the degree from the college.

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

In open learning management.. they provide hard copy of books tk prepare whole semester and this is a very good thing because those books are covering whole semester in some books only and there is a v good thing I found... At the end of every chapter they provide summaries and mock questions for every chapter to analyse the weakness and strength. the areas for improvements in the Course Curriculum and Teaching Methods--- they should also provide a mock test paper as per the paper model and latest questions or updated topics with to the point topics The difficulty is normal if candidate is completely prepared...
