Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

The curriculum had all the main aspects and topics I wanted to study about and it was taught accordingly in the way they knew well (though It definitely wasn't what I had pictured:)) i wish the syllabus was more engaging and not outdated. Something that I could use in real time because someone from the IT dept could do my job better than me without the degree:). So maybe more of computer based things in the curriculum that would help me get a job :)

Fees and Financial Aid

My total Tution fees for my 1st year was 66000 and in my 2nd year it was 10k lesser (coz I am of the evening batch (self financed stream) and we gotta pay twice a year 20-30+ k per semester:')). It's higher in the 1st and 3rd year and a tiny bit lesser in the 2nd year. The on campus accommodations (halls/hostels) they are pricey (45k excluding per month mess fees) and you pay both financially and mentally for it. The college does provide on campus employment (part time jobs) called study while you work (something like that) it's pretty good. The work can range from working in the library or record Ms office to volunteering for being scribes:). It's fun. The pay isn't alot 3k Max for 3 months (depends on the job). For the scribe thingy it's 200 for 2 exams. So yea. If you need to make some cash go for it. Not alot of slots but when you get the chance go for it :).

Campus Life

2.5

MCC was know for it's culturals more than academics but it's kinda dying or it's probably already dead. If you're a part of the halls/ hostels and if you're not an introvert then you'd always have something happening every month. Apart from that every department has something or the other function. We have 3 clubs and even if they aren't that famous they manage to do stuff from time to time. The library is nice. Not like NICE NICE but meh. Works ( has alot of old books maybe from charity) has a wide range of department related books I guess. My department has a mini library for our subject related books so I didn't need to go to the library. The facilities on campus are fine, they're good, the college wants to retain it's heritage and preserve it the way it was 100+ years ago so don't mind the occasional broken windows and desks. Not much of a sports person so I wouldn't know much about it but we have more than 3 playgrounds and they are BIG. they also take it very seriously.

Hostel Facilities

1.5

GO AT YOUR OWN RISK GIRLIES AND DON'T IGNORE THE 1 STAR/ NEGATIVE REVIEWS ON QUORA OR ANYWHERE ELSE:) the male halls, they are spacious and each of them have their own rooms. you have your normal college lore and each hall has their own history, TRADITION (emphasis on dat) with a hall song and everything. Mess menu depends on the residents and the female halls have the same thing but you gotta share a tiny room with 3 people. And you have to bring your own fans coz they're aren't any on the ceiling:)The halls are clean(speaking for the women's hall, idk about the men's) the food is meh. If you're south Indian or aren't picky then it's edible. The registration process is the same as the college admission, there's a form on the college website for hall admissions, you apply, see if you go in (they usually have 3 lists) per hall and have a nuce chit chat with the warden and boom you're in (Physically). If you do wanna go thru the whole tradition/emotional manipulation just go to andapuram

Admission

The admission process for me was pretty chill. No CUET required, if you're from ST or SC or you're a Christan group then you have reservations. The application forms, application fees and dates are all posted on the official college website. You apply for the college, wait for the admission letter, pay your fees and then go for the verification process on campus. I don't have any issues with the process so pretty chill ( atleast for me)

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is well structured and relevant to current academic and real world needs,it hepls built astrong foundation knowledge especially in my field geography, the syllabus also supports preparation for competitive exams and higher education. Exams are conducted regularly and difficulties level is moderate, which helps in consistent preparation, however adding more practical assessments instead of only theoretical exams would be beneficial Overall the curriculum is good but it can be improved by including updated topics more hands on learning, and modern teaching methods

Course Curriculum Overview:

The courses are well structured and interesting espcially the social psychology and basic psychology papers. in a semester there are 2 internal exams and they will be at least a month apart from each other. as long as you study your course materials, the exams are pretty easy however otherwise it might be a tough one. the courses are well structured espcially the social and basic psychology. and in some semesters, there will be a reading period where students are encourged to go and read in the Library.. The Curriculum served as a base for Internships and basic understanding but it is required to do masters to get a job in psychology filed

The placements at college were good. Students become eligible for placement from the 5th semester. Some of the companies to my knowledge were Deloitte, Cognizant, Hexaware and the average package was between 3lpa to 5lpa. In my class, ther percentage pf students placed was more than 75%. My plan after my Bachelors was to immediately pursue Masters degree.
