Unravelling the essence of IIIT BHBANESWAR

International Institute for Information Technology Bhubaneswar is renowned for its comprehensive and relevant course offerings in Information Technology and related fields. The course curriculum is meticulously designed to meet industry demands and technological advancements. It encompasses foundational courses in computer sicence and engineering, alongside specialized electives focusing on emerging areas like Artificial Intelligence, Machine learning, data Science, cyber security, and software Engineering.

Several companies offer internships with stipens, provideing roles such as network consultant, project assistant, project associate, system Manager, and project manager. Some of the projects include the developement of a machine translation system for Indian languages.

Last year's placements were promising, with the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) branch securing an average package of approximately 18 LPA, while the Information Technology (IT) branch averaged around 19 LPA. For the Electronics and Telecommunication (ETC) and Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) branches, the average package were 13 LPA and 11 LPA respectively. Students become eligible for internships from their 3rd year onwards, with numerous renowed companies like Dell, Oracle,and Adobe conducting placement drives on campus. The highest package offered this year was 86 LPA by Oracle, with an average package of 12 LPA. The overall placement percentage stands at approximately 88%.

The tuition fees at IIIT Bhubaneswar are comparable to those of IITs or NITs, approximately amounting to 2.5 lakhs per year. While there are no scholarships available for students from outside Odisha, some scholarships are provided to students from within the state.

The campus of IIIT Bhubaneswar spans approximately 25 acres, making it smaller than that of IITs. Our Annual cultural Fest, Advaita, takes place in the first week of March, while our tech fest and sports fest are known as D3 and Krida respectively. The campus boasts a well equipped library with a vast collection of books by various authors. Class Rooms are comfortable, with centrally air conditioned halls and auditoriums. Sports facilities include a football ground, Cricket ground, basketball court, 2 badminton courts, and a tennis court. Additionally there are 13 student run societies catering to diverse interests.

Accomodation in our campus consists of triple sharing rooms, with the option of single rooms available for scholars. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Hostel allocation is determined by drawing chits at the time of admission. The campus is surrounded by lush greenery, but there are no nearby pg accommodations. While the hostel meals may not be exceptional, there are plenty of dining options available outside the campus. Additionally, there is a canteen on campus that offers decent food to eat.

You have to give the Joint Entrance Examination after that you have to apply for jsaa councelling for OTA catagory. You can find the application form in the official site of NTA and there is no application fees for JOSAA. But for CSAB(special round) you have to pay around 4000. To get enrolled in the course your 12th grade should be higher than 75%. For the students from the Odisha catagory they are providing 50% reservation which I took advantage of. It was quite similar to JOSAA councelling. Application form is available in the college website only.
