MNIT in 1 review

My course is Electronics and Communication which I chose under the influence of a 12th Physics chapter named Semiconductors, However when I came to college-level teaching, it was a lot different than what I had expected, Any branch teaching wouldn't prepare you perfectly for the real-world applications You would have to do it yourself by either doing internships for learning it yourself. Exams are held twice a semester. One being Mid Terms and the Other being End Terms.

Numerous companies roll in for internships In your internship period, you either do a project and submit it in your department OR get an internship from a company coming to college. Mostly you would be getting On-campus Internship which is good for students, However, you can also apply for internships in Off-Campus mode' On-campus internship stipends vary from 30k-40k.

From the 7th Semester, the placement season begins and companies start to roll in. Top companies who visited MNIT are Apple, Microsoft, Seimens Electric, TATA, Mahindra Tech...and many more the highest package till now was 64LPA for the Electronics Branch. In 2023 100% of students got placed in the ECE branch.

The tuition fee for 1 semester for the general quota would be around 72000 for the general category and varies for different categories and on family income, Fees dont have much of a hike here. The complete cost of my education for 4 years would be projected around 10 Lacs including the hostel expenditures. There are multiple scholarships from college that you can avail if you are in need.

There are 2 fests held in our college. Sphinx which is the technical fest held in the month of October Blitzschlag which is the cultural fest held in the month of February There is a huge collection of books in the library of various departments, you are always free to come and have a gain of knowledge before 10pm everyday. Coming to the classrooms, They all are Air Conditioned and every classroom has 2 projectors with a blackboard. There is a sports complex facilitating 4 TT courts, 4+1 Badminton courts, 3 volleyball courts, and 2+2 basketball courts. Although there atre many societies and clubs in MNIT but none of them are active much. The only club being the most active is ED-cell.

For hostel accomodation, you would be getting a tripple sharing room in first year and single rooms in the following years. Each student is facilitated with a metal bed frame, a fan, a Tubelight , A chair , A table , And a Cupboard. Meal in mess is included in hostel fees. Mess quality isnt that good in any of the hostels,however there are multiple food stalls just near the deans gate. of MNIT. You would be getting hostel accomodation based on first come first serve basis. although there is enough space for everyone.

To get into my college which is MNIT firstly you would have to clear JEE Mains which in itself is a tough task, you need to get the required rank above the cutoff to gain a seat in that branch of that specific NIT. Application forms would be available on JoSaa and CSAB websites after JEE Main attempts. Application fees aren't much and dates vary every year from May to June. JEE Mains would be held twice a year and it requires dedication to clear it.
