Course Curriculum Overview
Bachelor in Electrical and Electronics engineering basically involves 2 parts , Electrical and Electronics as the name suggests. Electrical aspect majorly focuses on building and working on circuits while Electronics is about VLSI , signals and systems , logic gates and so on. This course is booming at the point because our world revolves around IOT and EEE is the best option if your interests lie around IOT and Technology.
Placement Experience
In the 6th semester, students can sit for campus placements. All top Tech companies and MNCs visit the campus , however few of them come with a criteria of 8cgpa and are open to only the circuital branches. Highest package was 60 LPA and average is 12 LPA as of 2023.
Fees and Financial Aid
College fee in NITK as of 2024 is 72240 INR. There's a hike every semester due to the growing infrastructure within the campus , however considering its a government the hike is very minimal. Hostel fee is 30670 , mess fee is 30000 . Financial aid is provided to students having category like SC , ST , OBC , however there are some merits based scholarships as well.
Campus Life
Incident is biggest cultural fest that is conducted every year in the even semester mostly in the month of March and Engineer is the technical fest held in the odd semester in the month of October. The campus has a really good infrastructure supplying you with all the basic needs. We have 2 libraries , one where we can issue books and the other one is the digital library. Classrooms haave projectors and blackboards for teaching purpose . Coming to the clubs , NITK is best known for its technical clubs , IEEE , ACM , IRIS . It has really famous cultural clubs like DDFC ( Dance , Drama and Fashion ) , Genesis ( dance club ) , Music Club . We also have non exclusive clubs like NITK RACING , BAJA NITK RACING , ISTE , IE . All these clubs provide the best peer groups with whom you can work along with. Coming to sports , NITK is best known for the number of trophies it has won in all the INTER NIT competitions in all sports like kabbadi , basketball, badminton, kho kho , athletics , yoga.
Hostel Facilities
The room that first year girls get is double sharing , definitely, with two tables , chairs , beds , cupboards. Non veg mess serves chicken and egg on alternative days (only in the night and also except on Tuesday) .
Admission
All the students who clear JEE Mains and have 75% above in CBSE/PU board are eligible to get a seat in NITK. The councelling happens through the JOSAA website where you are expected to fill your priority order of colleges along with the branches. This happens after JEE ADVANCED is done. JEE mains has 2 attempts , one in January and the other in April every year.
