Navigating the Ups and Downs of College Life

I have Electrical Engineering course. This consists of a wide range of disciplines including circuit theory, electronics ,power systems, control systems, signal processing and telecommunications. This course helps to design, develop and maintain electrical systems , devices and instruments across various industries. The course curriculum is well organised providing the knowledge about field from basics to more deep year by year. One suggestion for improvement is one or two industrial visits must be organised so that we can be more familiar with the equipments we study. Exams are held twice in a semester - mid sem and end sem. Mid sem exam consists of 30% weightage and End sem exam consists of 50% weightage and rest 20% is of assignments , attendance, performance in lecture etc. The exam papers are not so difficult if you have studied all through the semester.

The companies like JP Morgan offering roles of Software engineer, data analysts and other technical roles providing a stipend upto Rs. 60000/- according to skills of students and roles , Texas Instruments offering roles in industrial sector which is a core company providing stipend upto 15000/- including accomodation expenses, Deloitte offering roles of analysts and data science engineers providing stipend upto 20000/- and so many other companies visit to provide internship oppurtunities . These oppurtunities helps the students to get real time experience of working in field they have opted for. The companies assign projects to students and helps and guides them also to complete their projects and enhance their technical or industrial skills.

After the 6th semester , students became eligible for the campus placements and after 4th semester , students are eligible for internship oppurtunities. Many companies visit the campus for the placements like JP Morgan , Adobe, Airtel, Amazon, Reliance, Deloitte, Bajaj motors , BPCL , Apple, BEL, BHEL, etc. The total number of offers made by these companies are about 689. The highest package of 64 LPA and average package was of 13.2 LPA as per the year 2023 statistics. The percentage of students is highest in Electrical branch which is about 89% and lowest in Civil Engineering which is about 59%. The overall percentage of students getting placed is 81.51% as per 2023 year. I will opt for the campus placements after the degree to work in IT field.

The tuition fee is different as per even and odd semester. It is approx 35000/- for odd semester and Rs. 17000/- for the even semester. The hostel fee charges are separate i.e. Rs. 35000/- per semester. The fee charges are fixed . There is no such fee increase policy. The complete fee of the course is approx Rs. 641000/- including tuition fee , hostel fee and other charges. Scholarships like Swami Sivananda Memorial Scholarship which provide amount of upto 24000/- and other like Central Sector Scholarship of Top class education which provide an amount upto 50000/- and full tuition fee etc. are also provided to the students belonging to weaker economical sections. Mainly two annual festivals are organised in college - one is cultural and other is technical fest. The cultural fest is named as Blitzschlag which is basically held in the month of February which is of 3 days and the other one is technical fest named as Sphinx which is held in month of October-November which is of three days including robotic and technological innvation events and concerts. Library has 170290 printed books, 4249 e-books, 19 printed journals, 32736 e-journals, 740 Phd thesis and 12 print magazines. All the classrooms are well furnished with fully A.C. ,fans and lights properly working. Campus provides facilities for sports like cricket, handball, volleyball ,kho-kho , etc. There are many cultural clubs like dance club, the mavericks, poetry and photography club, etc. and technical clubs like Zine and Robotics and Infosec club and others ran by the college students which helps students in their personal development and exploring social life.

For each student ,there is one bed, one chair ,one table,one almirah are provided in a room. 24/7 internet connection is also provided for each student. The mess food of our college is good . Desserts are served on daily basis in dinner. Special dinner is served once in a month. The menu includes basic food items like milk, bread , fruits and all healthy seasonal vegetables are served . To opt for hostels , firstly we have to answer yes in hostel column while filling application form during admission time. Then after coming to college , go to hostel office and submit the details and pay hostel fee . Then hostel room is allotted which is informed to us through the email we have provided in personal details. If you don't want to live in hostel , you can also rent a room or PG. PGs and rooms are available in Malviya Nagar nearby the college in colonies.

To take admission in this college , the only examination is the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) which is held once a year with 4 or 2 attempts as per the NTA decision. The application form for exam is available on NTA (National Testing Agency) website. After registration , all the details are provided on email or we can check by regular visiting of website. The registration fee is 800/- for female (Gen /OBC/EWS) and 1000/- for male (GEN/OBC/EWS) and 500/- for SC/ST and other categories. After the examination , the cutoff for all the categories are announced according to which ranks are decided. On the basis of these ranks , students can fill their choices of colleges in counselling round. Then colleges are allotted to students . Categories are also considered for reservation benefits while allotting the college. Then students can register on the college website as per the college guidance.

The faculty-to-student ratio is 1:7 .There are total 281 faculties in college. The faculty members can provide more timely and detailed feedback on the assignments and projects. A lower ratio allows for better mentorship and guidance or advise for career. All the faculties are very well qualified. Almost all of Professors have done their Ph.D.,Ed.D. in their relevant fields from well renowned institutes . Some faculties teach with the help of presentations explaining everything and some teach on greenboard. We interact with the teachers in the class and lab sessions .All faculties are present in their offices so that we can talk to them about our doubts or any other query.
