Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

according to me, the curriculum is a bit outdated but if u put extra effort into self-learning you are good to go, Where ever in my case I was doing an internship during my college final year so was learning more things than curriculum and I will also recommend everyone to join any kind of internship during 4th-year weather paid or unpaid because u will learn so many extra things that will upscale you for a good fit into corporate.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

during my final year, I got an internship at a college end within the city, it was a paid internship and they were paying me well. And the college has some MOUs with companies so you will get relaxation in attendance and exams. And eventually, if u do well in your internship u will get full-time in the company. And if you are sincere enough you will get internship .

Placement Experience

3.5

During my time placement was good you can expect all the big 4, service-based companies, some startups and some product-based like Amazon and Microsoft . For the core branch, there are fewer opportunities in the core company but the company like L&T , Boshs comes on campus

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees are a little bit on the higher side in my opinion, but there are some scholarships provided by the college according to the marks obtained in 12th marks. In my time students with 90% and above -- Rs 45000 P.A 80% to 90 % --- Rs 35000 P.A 70% to 80% ---- Rs 25000 P.A so before taking admission, I will recommend you ask the admission section for the merit-based scholarship. and people from Odisha state should check for a government scholarship because at my time some of my friends were getting some scholarships from the government end. Some of the partner banks of the college also provide education based on the requirements of the student and will also recommend you to check that also.

Campus Life

4.5

Clubs are top notch in this collage, especially robotics and drama club has won a lot of events in iits and nits fest. There are clubs like dancing, singing, poetry, debate, coding, and so many. I was the coordinator of the robotics and entrepreneurship club where I hosted and executed so many events with my batchmates' and juniors' help. Some of the clubs host hackathons were u can win a good amount of prizes, during my time the prize pool was around 100000.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

I was staying in Hostel BH-1 which is the oldest hostel on campus so it might look outdated, So I will recommend u get Hostel 10, 11,12 these are new hostels with all the modern facilities, for international students they basically provide bh-8 which is the best among the all. and for fees and flooding cost, you should refer to admission.soa.ac.in/hostel-fees . And about the food test are prity average in all the hostal some time food is unbeatable so I will recommend u keep snaks and package food with you.

Admission

There is an entrance exam known as SAAT for the link you can check admission.soa.ac.in here u will get all the details about the entrance exam. I will recommend everyone to take this exam because it is very easy to get a good rank in this exam the exam syllabus is the same as your board syllabus and the questions are of basic level.

Faculty

3.5

Some faculty are very good some are average. when you go to 3rd year You will get the best Faculty they will teach you very nicely, on the other hand, if some of the faculty bully you I will say just ignore them because everyone is not the same. During my final year, I got some extremely good faculty who helped me with my project and research work .

Placement Experience:

I would rate the placements at my college as 3 out of 5. Students usually become eligible for campus placements from the sixth or seventh semester, and a few well-known companies do visit the campus every year. The placement cell helps with basic training like resume building and interviews, and many students, especially from IT branches, manage to secure jobs. At the same time, the average salary packages are not very high and top roles are limited, so a lot of students also focus on skill development, off-campus opportunities or higher studies after completing their degree

Students are eligible for placement from their 3rd year onwards. It has been only 2-3 months but I have seen several companies arriving at the college, prominent ones being Flipkar,Deloitte, Xerox, TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Microsoft, Dell and several others including startups. There is no accurate data on how many offers have been made this year, but there are rumours that more than 95% of the eligible students have got placements. After getting a degree my plans are if I dont land into a satisfying job then I will start my preparation of the military or start a new business.
