- I like the greenery here. The infrastructure is also good. The mechanical department faculty is nice
- There are many clubs here which we can join for some extracurricular activities.
Dislikes
- There is only 1 canteen which is bad. The mess food quality is bad to ok.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculam is good, apt with the real world like manufacturing, automobile engineering, renewable energy. We have to learn 3-4 softwares in the curriculum. We have 3-4 classes of every subject in a week. The exams are held 2 times in a sem, first at end of feburary and 2nd at the end of april.
Internships Opportunities
We have internship opportunities in our 3rd year. For mechanical, the internship opportunities is not that good with only 20 students getting internship through the college. Companies like Jindal, Reliance, TVS, John Deere, Goldman Sacchs, Mondelez come here.
Placement Experience
In 3rd year, we get internship opportunities which is not that great for mechanical. In our final year, we can get placement which is quite good with all students getting placed with average package of 10LPA. Highest package this year is 20LPA. My plan after my degree is doing MBA.
Fees and Financial Aid
Tution fees in 66850 for general category for 1 sem and hostel is around 40000 for 1 sem. There are many scholarship opportunities available. Campus placement is good with 100% placement in mechanical this year. Job roles include GET, consulting, marketing.
Campus Life
Campus life is great in VNIT. We have a green campus. There are 2 fests in 1 year - AXIS and Aarohi. There are also many clubs in VNIT like racing club, dramatics club, music club, dance club,etc. There is a library which is medium sized.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel is quite good . Its fees is around 40000 for 1 sem. Mess in not that great. The mess menu gets changed in 2 months. Registration for the hostel is through their site. If you want to rent a PG, you are easily get it near the college.
Admission
Eligibilty is that you have a decent rank in JEE Mains. My rank was around 24000 (General). After that, you have to go through the counselling process of JOSAA and fill your options. There are reservation benefits too.
Faculty
In mechanical, we have 2 separate sections- A and B, so the 1 faculty has to deal with 40-50 students. The faculty is also good. The classes are interactive and good. There are max 6 subjects in a sem and we have 3-4 classes of every subject in a week.
