What Students Say
Likes
- Students can invest their time at better Campus and have edge over the others.
Dislikes
- Degree from Sol don't give the same advantage as the other DU college provides.
Course Curriculum Overview
Same as DU, so course can't be questioned as DU is known for its comprehensiveness. Only improvement that I can ask for is when other DU colleges have exams semester wise, Sol should also adopt it because we still have yearly exams which is outdated practice today.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees is a shade less than 8000 a year and yes from merit based to economic based a lot of scholarships can be availed. One has to attach the supported documents and tuition fee waiver from 10 to 100% is what one can get, if they are eligible. Campus don't provide placement as there is no placement.
Campus Life
Classes are on only during weekends as most of my classmates are preparing for civil services or entrance for further studies. So I would say my classmates are really intelligent and are hard-working. It may sound exaggerated but students of our college are more hardworking then students of other regular DU colleges. There are various societies at the college and making connection through them is actually beneficial. In terms of fest the commerce faculty have its own fest called COMBIZ which happens in March every year.
Admission
HSC passed students can directly apply as the cut-off for DU regular colleges is such that everyone can't have that. This is where School of Open Learning comes in picture as students with 60% and above can apply for B.Com and can have their seat reserved in DU.
Faculty
Faculties needs a very very special mention as even though we don't have to attend regular classes but they are available for help as and when required. Through what's app groups students can ask for a particular class if many students have similar doubts. Hence, I would give them a thumbs-up.
Other Applied Colleges
Christ University | Bachelor of Business Administration [BBA]
My parents didn't allow me to go that far and hence since Delhi is close to my hometown, I had to join DU.
