Course Curriculum Overview

3

Curriculum here has its own pros and cons. If you want to pursue your career in the core branches then the curriculum here is very helpful. Still the course structure are not up to the industry level. A student has to make his own efforts to be industry ready. For those who want pursue their career in non core fields such as management, software developmer or any other corporate job then the whole curriculum feels of no use. This happens with almost all the colleges of India. The academics here are much easier and there's a moderate level of academic pressure. I personally feel that the frequency and timing of the exam is right as it is going for now. We are supposed to write two main exams in a semester. One midsemester exams and a endsemester exams. A lot of other things add up to this. Overall I feel curriculum can be improved a lot to make the students industry ready even when it comes to the core placements.

Internships Opportunities

4

Students usually get internship opportunities in their third year of the college. The training and placemnt cell conducts official drive for the on campus internships. These includes reasearch internships as well as core interns and also non core interns. Students also get opportunities of applying for various institutions for reasearch internships. The highest stipentnd received this year was 2.5lakhs per month and the average was around 70k. But not all the students get the opportunity of on campus internships. This varies from branch to branch. Numerous companies also provide Pre Placement Offers for students. Students get to learn and make their own projects for this. Various huge companies that I mentioned in the placement section also visit the college for internships.

Placement Experience

4.5

The college provides a well maintained campus placement drive. It also has a dedicated cell for that i.e. the Training and Placement Cell. The students become eligible for the placements from the 7th semester of college and they have their placement in their hands way before they graduate. The number of companies visited this year was more than 280 and more than 1000 students got placed in the whole process of the placemnt including the pre placemnt offers. Companies visited includes Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Facebook, oracle, Goldman Sachs, Texas, NVIDIA, Qualcomm, TCS, JPMC, Uber, Sprinklr and many more famous companies. The highest package received this year in the campus placements was 1.6Cr per annum and the average package was between 23-24 LPA. Various profiles were open for various branches. SDE, SWE, AIML roles, Management roles, Consultancy roles, core job opportunities were some of them. The students were placed with a huge ratio even after facing recession in the past year

Fees and Financial Aid

On an average the overall fees (including tution fees, hostel, mess, service fees and everything) is nearly 3lakhs per year for a general student. Consessions are given for students on various aspects such as for economically weaker families having their annual income less than 5lakhs, the fees is around 50% the original and for the families having annual income less than 1lakh it is way less than that. This also applies on the basis of category as well. Numerous amount of scorships are provided from various sources including central government ,state government ,alumini findings and some from the college itself. These scolorships are based on various different criterias. I don't know exactly about the hiking rate of the fees but I'm sure that it is less and on a regular rate. As far as I know there aren't many opportunities in campus employment. We can work under professors helping for their projects and they'll provide stipend for that. Even students work as teaching assistants.

Campus Life

4

The overall campus life has very good aspects in it. There are various clubs in a huge number actually which allows you to pursue your intrest under the guidance of seniors. You can meet the like minded people of the college in the clubs. There are cultural clubs, Science and technology clubs, Film and media clubs and even more. There are even student run clubs which are dedicated for social help and improvements. College fest are the best part of college lifes. There are majorly three fests conducted by the whole college. 'Spardha' the sports fest which is conducted usually in the month of October, 'Kashiyatra' the cultural festival which is conducted in the month of January and 'Technex' the Techno-management fest conducted in the month of March. Other than this there are various events that are being held throughout the year by various clubs and councils. There is a huge accessibility to boks and journals through the college library which is another good part of the campus.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

For the first year students we are allotted a three sharing room which was supposed to be two sharing as the number of tables, chairs and almirahs provided are 2 each but only the number of beds are 3. This makes a bit difficult for the students to adjust as the room size is also according to 2 members. One fan per room is provided. Water coolers are available in each floor which are not that well maintained. A common hall is also present which has a study room in in and a 3 table tennis tables. There is also a badminton court in the premises of the hostel. The quality of food provided is comparatively much better as compared to other colleges. The cleanliness can be improved in large aspect in the hostel and also in the mess. Hygiene must also be improved incase of mess food. Meanu has been improved after the request of students and for now has various items and serves the purpose. Affordability is very good for the hostel rooms. The rent is very less. The mess fee is also affordable.

Admission

The eligibility for entering into this course is you must have qualified JEE MAIN and also JEE ADVANCED both the exams. All the details regarding these exams are provided on the official site of NTA and we can apply for the same through this website. Further details regarding application are available on the site. The cutoff for the course that I have opted is nearly 2.8k for general students. There are various reservations onthe basis of categories and the cutoffs vary accordingly. I was a EWS candidate and I got this course after having a rank of 3792 and category rank as 432. Before the admission process in the college you have undergo with process of JoSAA which decides you college based on your rank. This whole process consist of 6 rounds and goes on for more than a month. The whole process is online and simple. After this, once you get alloted a college(IIT,NIT,IIIT or GFIT) the admission process varies from college to college. Ours was online and very simple. It was way smoother.

Faculty

3.5

The total number of student sin the college are around 7 thousand and the faculty is around 4 hundred. The faculty here are well qualified from various top universities of India. The professors are always approachable even during class hours and also in the respective departments. The teachers are interactive and help us in all the aspects related to our academics. Even though the faculty members are qualified enough but way of teaching differs from one to other. In this case some professors are very good and we cannot understand the lectures of some professors. The approach of teaching is very good. They conduct quizzes, give assignments and also make us solve tutorials which help in better learning of the subject. The student faculty ratio must be improved considering the numerous branches present here.

I choose this course because I want to be a software developer. The faculty are very kind and helpful. Almost every faculty member has completed there post-graduation from various established colleges. The examination scheme is a little bit slow here. Students can pass their semester exams if they are paying at least 45 per cent of their concentration.
