Likes
- The college environment is good. We get every type of basic facilities within the range of 2 kms. Its in the outskirts of the city so there is very less pollution and peace over the area.
- We have a lush green campus, the campus size is not so big but its an advantage also that we can go to the class just 5 min before the reaching time. The hostel quality is also good, we get regular maintenance and no issues regarding water.
Dislikes
- The students are very less in the campus, so we cant have a very big crowd puling event in the campus.
- The campus is not so big, so we are used to see the same people around us in a daily basis. Also the placements of this college is not so good as compared to other IIITs.
- The main issue here is the coding culture. The tech society is also not active in majority of times. This leads the students to either not do that activity or they leave the society.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course here is designed for the students only. As we are in an autonomous college, we get lots of questions in the sem papers from either PYQ or from the notes, which makes us easy to score in tough exams also. The course and curriculum is derived from IIT's and other IIIT's but the way of teaching and other things are too good in this college. The freedom you get in this college is far better than NIT's also.
Fees and Financial Aid
The main issue in this college is the fee. The fee is very high as compared to any other technical college. Usually in other colleges the fee is around 6-7 lakh, but we have a fee of around 10 lakhs in the 4 years. One this about this college is good that we get a lot of freedom of paying the fee. I know some of my seniors who havent paid the sem fee even after the sem is over. The authorities are helpfull and they allow this kind of behaviour after seeing the financial condition of a family and etc.
Campus Life
The campus life is good and not so good in the same way. We dont have any separate rooms for the club acitivites, But you get a lot of chance in for performing in the clubs. Like if you are new to the field also and you want to improve yourself then the club gives you ample amount of chances in the field to improve yourself. The campus is smal but we have every type of facilities inside the campus which you can enjoy.
Admission
The admisision process is through jee mains examination, after that jossa and csab are involved. But there is a special odisha category scheme also which allows 50% of odisha category student. The application process is simple and the cut off is like not that much high. If you are having a rank of 40k, then congrats you are eligible for the CSE branch of this college, Otherwise you can opt for any other branch in the CSAB as well.
Faculty
The faculty here are very friendly. The academic stress is also not that much high. If you have genuine doubt in any of the subject the teacher will be a god for you. Majority professors here are IIT graduates, and many have completed their pHd in foreign also. The higher authority of the college is very experienced and have contacts in abroad also.
