Course Curriculum Overview
Ceramic Engineering is quite a unique course. Only one IIT has this course. It teaches us well in all aspects of the Ceramic field for us to be ready in real world. Curriculum can be updated. Exams are held twice in a semester and can be cleared easily if studied beforehand.
Internships Opportunities
Internship season begins in the third year. Many popular companies visit for IT, Finance or Core roles. Students can make projects accordingly in order to showcase their skills in the resume. Internship season is great due to good alumni network.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for campus placements in their fourth year. Many popular companies visit the campus and approx 1000 offers were made in the last placement season. Highest package was of 75 LPA with the average being around 18 LPA. 80 percent of students get placed. Rest pursue further studies. My plans are not yet decided, still exploring.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fee structure is fair considering the facilities. No hike seen from the time of admission. Complete cost for 4 years is around 10 lakhs. Many scholarships are available for students. Students can take part in club activities or role of coordinators in fests.
Campus Life
Many fests are held among which Kashiyatra being the main cultural fest. There is a good sized library with a large collection of books. Classrooms are good but can be upgraded. All kinds of sports facilities and also a gymnasium are provided. Students run clubs in all fields which help students collectively enhance their skills.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel room is on triple sharing basis. Rooms could have been bigger. There is no AC in hostel as well. Mess is okayish as food gets monotonous after a point. Registration for hostel is very easy once one gets admission in the college.
Admission
Admission to IIT is on the basis of JEE Advanced rank. Reservation benefits are also available for students eligible. Exams are held twice in a semester and can be cleared if studied beforehand. No areas of improvement in the admission process as such.
Faculty
Different faculties for different subjects for a batch size of 70. Teaching is great. All faculties are very experienced in their respective fields. They are very helpful regarding any sort of academic doubts.
