Remarks

College is really good and strict about attendance and discipline. Unfair means are not at all tolerated. It is fair in treating every student equally. The faculty and infrastructure are good. The placements are not so great but college is trying its best to get more firms. The college conducts various personality development programs like K-school to help the students with interviews.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The curriculum is designed by the university. Few subjects are repetitive in nature and little outdated but the faculty tries to give a current view of the subject. The curriculum is not so rigorous there is time for the student to do extracurricular activities. Overall the curriculum is sufficient but does not push the student to think much. For self-finance courses, there is an internal assessment of 25 marks of which 5 marks are for conduct and 20 marks written exam. After internal, there are 75 marks external exam conducted by the university. The score is then normalized in SGPI out of 10. And grade is given like O for outstanding then A+, A, B+, B, C, D, E, and F is failing.

Placement Experience

3

Yes, the college tries to provide internships to the students with role based on their area of study. Though not all the students get the internship very few to get that internship. Monthly stipend for undergraduates ranges from 5000-7000 per month. There are not many placements as many students opt for further studies. Then too if any student wants a placement or internship students can go to the placement committee. PlaceComm invites many firms for recruitment from the pool of students. Interviews are conducted in college itself.

College Events

4

There are many events organized by all the departments of the college. Chakrawyuha is national level college festival, MAMOS Is fest by self-financed courses. Apart from these two, there is the annual day, annual athletic meet, investor week, research conferences, etc are organized by the college.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is feasible as it ranges from Rs 7000 for aided courses like b.com and B.A and for self-financed courses it is up to 29000 per year. The fees for reserved category students is reduced. When compared to facilities provided the fees are less but other colleges have comparatively even fewer fees with the same infrastructure.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are various scholarships and freeships are offered to students with low income and belong to reserved category. This freeships and scholarships are offered by various trustees and by government

Campus Life

4.5

We have 4 computer labs and 1 studio for mass media students, 1 gymkhana and one sports turf which was recently inaugurated. We also have 1 stock market simulator to train students to trade in stock markets. All of this is really great with modern infrastructure.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The infrastructure facilities are really good with fully centralized A/c classrooms, hi-tech computer labs, 2 mini auditoriums, 2 multi-purpose halls for various functions, 1 sports stuff where one can play cricket, football, volleyball, basketball, etc and for indoor games there is a gymkhana room where there is a carrom board, chess, etc and there is a gym with all the fitness equipment.

Alumni/Alumna

There are alumni who are at the good post in corporate, few alumni come to college as visiting faculty to teach and they are really good. Some of them are doing Ph.D. Senior students are really friendly and they work really hard to make cultural festivals a success by working in coordination with juniors.

Admission

The admission process is based on merit list based on the percentage score in 12th standard. Three merit list is displayed and student who wishes to take admission has to complete all the process of admission within three days after his/her name appears in the merit list. There are a different number of seats for different self-finance courses like BMS 240 seats, BAF 240, BBI 120, BIM 70, ETC.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty of the college is good with all the professors has a masters degree and also some of them are doing their PhDs. The faculty is very friendly, knowledgeable and are available all the time. The faculty encourages and guide the students in all the way possible. Parents can contact faculty anytime and they are accessible

Placement Experience:

At TCSC placements are quite good as anyone. Even the SOBO colleges and Mithibai don't have placements as good as us. So this is why I always dreamt of studying here because since last 6-7 years, Thakur College placements have gone better and higher.

The good thing is that the college was not strict and was never forcing us to study rather it was seeing to it that it gave us proper advice and help us reach more towards my career goal. The bad part would be there were may staff which was very dull and was not kind, and no importance was given to correct their behaviour although it was evident by all.
