Nishikant Rath's Review On Orissa Engineering College - [OEC], Bhubaneswar

The classes are running good now and so the labs are. Management will provide many things during the campus selection time whic is the best thing for a student. The college is developing with infrastructure also which is also a good sign.

I have taken OJEE which in Orissa JEE entrance exam for engineering. I have got 20,000 rank in that entrance exam so I got Information Technology branch. Anyway I had a wish to study about computers and with that much rank I got IT which is similar to computer.

Course are good and it consist of many computer and programming oriented subjects and a few of electronics subject. Faculties are not so good. But now they are improving and i think its good for the upcomming students. When did we started our classes we have got very low graded teachers and we complained about those issues then they changed but not the effective one we got again. But when the principal changed all the teachers went sincere and all things get settled.

There are no internship program happening in this college. Our college only provide mock tests before campus selection. Corporate gurukul is the third party which conducts our personal interviews. Thats good for students before attending any such companies. It gives confidence to the student and the experience is also acts as a asset over there.

TCS(tata consultancy service) is the only company which comes every year and takes a bulk of student more than 150 students every year. Leaving TCS there is mindtree,Zycus which are coming alternatively. They are offering around 3LPA.

Every year college fest observed which is divided into two parts. One is technical and other is caltural. In technical there are program likes robortics,gamings etc. In caltural there are ramp walk,dancing,singing,play.

I haven't got any scholarship and also didn't available any loan.

Its a good experience in college. Every year around 600(min) students are joining and the ratio of boys and girls is 4:2. The extracurricular activities you will get is only robortics. Labs are not that good but its improving. Competition is always there.

Hostel is good even the mess is also good. They takes 48 thousands for food & 18000 for hostel. But the only problem is this facility is only for the first tear only. Later you have deal with outside to stay and for food.

Well in the beginning there was some ragging in our college but later when we have become seniors the ragging went to zero level. Now there is no ragging in college. The sports and other extracurricular activities gives a repo to the juniors to mix with the seniors.
