Likes
- There is a 0% attendance rule. Although attending the lab/practical sessions are a must but we have freedom related to attending the theory classes.
- There are a lot of clubs and activities.
Dislikes
- Infrastructure can be much better, the labs have great teachers but there needs to be a much better infrastructure for labs.
Course Curriculum Overview
Overall the curriculum is upto date and will definitely allow us to get industrially viable skillsets. Personally I would say we could have C++/Java instead of C in our curriculum which is a subjective and debatable topic.
Internships Opportunities
I have very little information although there are a huge number of seniors going out for internships. They have been placed in different companies and are getting paid decently too. There is tough competition for these internships.
Placement Experience
As far as I know, we have an internship session after the 2nd year and the other after the 3rd year. Last year the placements stood at nearly 100% so everyone gets placed who sits for the placement. Many students go for higher studies, mostly research.
Fees and Financial Aid
We need to pay around 5000 rupees when we apply for the WBJEE exam. After I got admission into the college I literally had to pay 710/- for 2 years For the 3rd and 4th year I need to pay around 5000 rupees only. Cheapest college in the country. There are a lot of scholarships also, So we have students who actually earn money by studying in this college. There are a wide scholarships based on the income and talent criteria .
Campus Life
The fests were held in March and they were really well conducted. There are a lot of events taking place it's impossible to keep track of all of them. The classroom doesn't have an air conditioner for our stream and some labs are mediocre, others are good.
Admission
The cutoffs for this college are pretty high. Overall the process was very simple. I caveat was that we had to go offline to the college for the admission process but otherwise, it was pretty simple.
Faculty
All the faculty members are very highly qualified and many of them have a great number of research papers issued. All of them are very helpful and understanding. They are always willing to help and support all standards.
