JU is a very good experience for me .

I chose Bachelors in Engineering in Jadavpur University for many different reasons. The first being that it is the best college placement and faculty wise in my srate. Many aspects of curriculum caught my eye when i was searching up for this college- the placement oppurtunities, the effective curriculum that makes student ready for the real world, the course being work oriented and helps in job related activities upto great measures. Faculty and professors are known to be one of the best in thee belds and the style of teaching is what attracted me. The curriculum is vast and it covers a very wide range of real world problems and also make us ready forany academic pursuits and real world applications. The curriculum is almost perfect but there are some fields where improvement is needed.

Relience , Honeywell etc companies come for industrial internships . These internships were paid . But there are many opportunities in research internships in side or outside of the university. I got involved in two research internships in my college. One from my department and another from mechanical engineering department.

From 7 th semester students become eligible for the campus placements. Many companies including core companies like relience, Vedanta, Honeywell etc and non core companies like PWC , Accentuate etc. visits and in total of 100+ offers are given (including double offer). Highest package is approx 14 lpa and average is 8 to 9 lpa. Approx 90% students placed in placement season. I want to get on campus placement.

The tuition fee is 2.5k. There is also tuition fee relief for those who are from economically backward families. The complete course fee for my course is 10k. There are many scholarships provided by alumni associations and other societies. I have participated in the management of sports events this year. I am also in some research program in my university.

Campus life, Social aspects, Club involvement and infrastucture: Names of annual and technical festivals are: Srijan, Sanskriti, Freshers, U-Turn and many more. We can actively participate in these fests and they are an integral part of our engineering life, which helps is developing communication and relations among fellow classmates and seniors. A wide variety of books and journals are available in our central and all the departmental libraries. There are multiple reference and informative books available to be issued which help in all aspects-both curriculum and research purposes. There are also newspapers and important magazines available.

The only eligibility of the course is to get decent marks in WBJEE exam . I got around 1361 rank and got secured my seat in general caste. All the details of the application dates and other can be found in the university website. Application form will be found in wbiee website. We got exams in every two months.

I have not the exact data of the ratio, but i have not faced any problem in the classroom in terms of studies . The faculties are well qualified. They are friendly too. We can reach out to the professors any time inside the campus. Some even give their personal number in which we can contact them.
