Celebrations Unlimited @NITJ

It was an experience full of learning and celebrations which was definitely made possible by college faculty, management, and student associations.

There are 16 departments in college focused on engineering. There is an MBA course as well. Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics department offer MSc courses as well. Exams are taken thrice in a semester. With Minor exams (20 marks each) held twice and Major exam (50 marks) held once. 10 marks are for internal assessment. Overall it is a fair course curriculum.

Placement cell is highly active and continuously strives for better results. Many organizations visit college which offers internships and job opportunities to candidates. I myself bagged an internship offer with Wipro, which visited our campus.

There is a great focus on events to be celebrated on campus. TechNITi is a techno-managerial festival celebrated in the month of November. Utkansh is a cultural festival which is celebrated in the month of MARCH. Bharat Dhwani is an event which is celebrated as a remembrance to the foundation day of college. The sports event is celebrated in the month of March.

The fees structure is genuine with fees collected from students on basis of category (SC/ST, Open, OBC) and family annual income. There are many students from other countries called DASA students for whom fees are different. The detailed structure can be found on the website as there are multiple parameters for fees collection from the candidate.

No, I did not opt for an education loan. But college has a provision to accept fees via a loan for which they provide prior notifications to avoid any delay.

NIT Jalandhar is a place full of celebrations. Gender ratio and diversity are fair. Lab facilities are good with all modern equipment and trained staff members. Regular events take place, both inter-college and intra-college in the field of sports, academics, cultural.

The hostel fees when I used to stay was 2500 (Hostel room) + 21000 (Mess Advance, which is refunded if the balance is remaining). It would not be wrong to say that they are State of Art hostels with 24 X 7 security, water, electricity. Rooms are quite spacious with Almirah, Bed, table, chair provided. Food in mess is excellent with a lot of food options available.

The college has a strong Alumni cell. Every year in the month of April, Alumni meet is celebrated where alumni are invited to be part of the event. The faculty is in connection with many professionals who are working in great organizations to provide regular career guidance to students.

Took nonmedical after class 10 and gave JEE Mains (formerly known as AIEEE) in class 12 (generally in the month of April) to get into college. A national level rank list is prepared by CSAB (Central Seat Allocation Board) which governs the entire admission process. Seats are allotted on basis of this rank list and students choice filled during online counseling.

Faculty of my college is highly dedicated. They encourage not only for academics but for innovations, research. They provide all support and make their best efforts for students. I can still recall that they connected me with alumnus so that I can start with my Android projects.
