VIT Chennai review

Yeah, the course curriculum is great here, for a computer science student any specialization they will be starting the programming course in python and then c,c++ and Java .Moreover they will be mixing several electrical courses too like basic electronics, basic electrical engineering.the first semester will be comprising the subjects slike physics, chemistry and technical English (those who will fail in EPF test conducted before the commencement of classes).they have also separated DSA into two parts as Basic DSA(time and space complexity, various data structures and basic algorithms) and Design and Analysis of Algorithms which I will was a great thing to do. The various core subjects are being introduced to you semester after semester like operating system, computer networks,DBMS, cryptography, artificial intelligence. Overall the course curriculum is very relatable and enjoyable here

The internship are great here Starting from third year you will start to recieve the internship process Companies like Amazon, Microsoft, DBS,City ,PWC etc have conducted tests and interviews online have selected students with better stipend of average 50,000 Thep roles offered here was either for development,data analyst, cyber security etc

Placement are comparatively better than other private colleges, after third year students started to get notifications for summer internships and one-semester internships ,After fourth year the main placement season starts Approx 150 Companies like Amazon,Intel, Microsoft,DBS,City,PWC,Z campus,TCS, Accenture,Fidelity,etc came last time nd hired students Highest was Approx 85lpa from Chennai campus and the average was 7-8 lpa As it was recession year so average percentage reduced as compared to other years andit was around 70-75% My plans are also to get placed in the upcoming placement season

The fees structure is divided into two parts one for tuition fees and other hostel fees Tuition fees will be decided on the basis of your VITEEE rank and the course you wanted to opt, if your rank is not so good and you are opting for much desirable courses thenyou haveto pay more here ,So the tuition fees is divided into several categories from 1-5 . Mine was category 1 where I have to pay 1,95,000 per year , including 3,000 as caution deposit but if you belong to other categories you have to pay more. The hostel fees is not constant,it may be possible when the time you enrolled in hostel the fees may be less but after sometime they can increase it in anyway they want . For me I have opt for 4-bed nac and veg mess. At starting it costs as 1,07,000 and now it costing 1,38,500 . There are certain scholarship program, specially in first year where certain students won upto 50,000 rupees by reliance and other scholarship program too available internship DBS ,Amazon,micsft.. (10-60000)

The overall experience was great here in VIT Including campus life and hostel Life There are technically two festivals take place here One is Techno VIT done basically for exhibition of technical aspects of various clubs present here in September and other is Vibrance. It is a cultural program held in the month of March Each classroms have projectors associated for displaying presentation and each labs are well crafted by required equipments There is a separate section for physical education department where interested student can visit and give their trial and get selected for major competition and represent the college There are many clubs working in the campus run by the president (generallya student studying in6-7th semester) and faculty coordinator These clubs are frequently organising different events (either social and technical)

Hostels are good either they are Ac rooms or not . If you are facing any discomfort you just need to raise a ticket online and can contact to the warden office at ground floor, they will try to resolve your issue as soon as possible but you are required to be patient You will be provided a cupboard,case ,table chair and the electrical socket in your room The mess is average here , the quality also hampered sometimes as I have faced insects and stones in the food The registration process is also based on the cgpa you got, you will get the first chance to select the hostel room and mess if you are 9- pointer

You have to take admission after giving VITEEE exam and you have to qualify it. Based on your rank you will get the different course in different branch of VIT.the first five to six thousand students opt for VIT Vellore CSE core ,then after that various specialization courses and so on and next five-six thousand goes for VIT Chennai and so on I got around 12000 rank and got CSE and specialization in Cyber physical System in VIT Chennai The application form is available online on VIT website, you need to fill, they will provide the exam date and centre The exam was easier as compared to Jee mains but the time is less and number of questions you have to do is more There's no reservation benifits I guess If you doesn't get your favourite course then there is chance after 1st year based on your cgpa you can migrate

Faculties are generally very good here , exceptions are present everywhere so you can assume here too. Some of them are really supportive and keep you motivated but there are also some who are not good in teaching and will try to decrease your marks in any way possible so FFCS process where you can select your faculties and your timetable ,is very important you have to keep the track record of different available faculties from your batchmates and your seniors and select them. If you want to get the first slot for FFCS then you have to be 9-pointer those who have cgpa equal or greater than 9 ,the next slot will be for day-scholars and then the slots will be decided on the basis of your attendance.there are also many faculties who'll provide you to work under them as research scholar and also provide an unpaid internship to students
