Likes
- College has ffcs means fully functional credit system which helps students to get their choice of courses and teachers and also the time table
- They use CALTech which means collaborative and active learning teachnology which is great as classes will be interactive not a one man speaking
- Boys walk almost 15 kms every day as boys hostel is very far from academic blocks
Dislikes
- Our hostel block boys hostel block 5 is beside dump yard of our college and here drainage flows out and as I stay in ground floor atleast 40 to 50 mosquitoes will be in every room
- Food quantity and quality changes according to the visiting of some important people in hostels
- When I came here for my second year first sem we were given a hostel in which nothing is constructed fully , no proper washrooms, no water for drinking, no safety nothing.
Course Curriculum Overview
Courses are great and upto date, course curriculum is fully flexible and students choice but they also suggest to take some courses and some are mandatory for program, everything in terms of curriculum is great there is no requirement of changes.
Internships Opportunities
Mostly ASDE roles are given and companies like , AMD, Intel, Nokia and many more give opportunities with stipend averaging of 15k per month, I don't have any idea on project and outcomes that much but here internship and placement cell is outstanding providing opportunities to so many students with very less failure rate.
Placement Experience
From the start of fourth year in my course we become eligible for campus placement, all the top companies hire here as the placement is centralized for all the vit campuses, highest is 49LPA and every year over 95 percentage of students get placed and if not placed from college the skills taught here will gaurantee a job.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees structure is transparent and no significant hike will be seen, apart from tution fee there is no other charges academically , scholarship is not their for many people but for students in mp for every district first student in 12th gets 100% fee wavier and others have fee structure based on merit.
Campus Life
There as so many club activities happening through out the year the main college fest is advitya which offers all the club's to have their events, sports and all other activities are encouraged but not supported well, can make clubs easily and here there are more than 70 registered clubs in our college.
Hostel Facilities
Wosrt things start in hostel , the hostels have worst quality food all the time except when their is a visit of some higher officials, the rooms are ok but they gave us under-construction rooms in the start of this academic year and even now nothing is complete, room has wifi,water,they say 24/7 hot water in shower but it never works properly even wifi goes down for days and as college is in the middle of nowhere no proper network is there.
Admission
12th is eligiblity and you can get to my course through registering online in vit website with some nominal charges and based on merit counselling will happen, addmission process is great and for btech they conduct viteee exam and based on merit of that exam they get admission
Faculty
Our college has 100% doctoral faculty so the knowledge is immense but if we see faculty to students ratio it would be around 1:100 which is being improved, faculty here are very supportive and encourages students in every aspect, we can approach any faculty any time without any restriction during working hours of them.
