Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Getting to treat and cure a needy person is the ultimate feature which influences every medical students. The present MBBS curriculum is Competency based medical education, which creates competent indian medical graduates who are capable of performing all the major healthcare roles by achieving specific number of Competencies. The curriculam can be improved by providing some more exposures in areas like radiodiagnosis and some other specialities. The frequency and difficulty level of the exams are decent for achieving the competencies

Internships Opportunities

4

We can work as junior doctors in our college itself for one year which is a compulsory internship and it provides a pay of ?25000 monthly . They also work in peripheral health centres as medical officers for a few months in the internship period

Fees and Financial Aid

Tuition fees is around 25000 which is almost same for the past few years. Also the government provides scholarship for the students belonging to SC, ST, EWS, OEC categories in our college. There is a monthly hostel rent of ?40 and mess fees which is ?110per day. This is the only expense other than the books and the yearly exam fees. After final year one year of internship is done in our college itself which has a monthly stiphent of ?25000

Campus Life

4.5

Our college has all the clubs like arts club, sports club, theatre club, queer club and all of these are very active and our college is the intermedicos champions which consist of both arts and sports. All the sports teams are well trained by qualified coaches daily. All the lecture halls are airconditioned and have projectors. Library is also air conditioned with a huge collection of academic and non academic books . It is open till 9pm

Hostel Facilities

3

Rooms are well lit and has two fans. Everyone is provided with a coat and table. Mess is run by a private catering team on contract basis and it charges ?110 per day. The meals are okay according to the fees but not very delicious. Hostel is provided at the time of admission itself and has a rent of ?40 monthly and an establishment fee of ?500monthly

Admission

First of all NEET exam should be cleared and after the results are out, there is an all india allotment and kerala allotment. Both of them are online and will be allotted based on your rank. Our college being the top college in kerala had a very high cut off of 640plus marks in 2021 admissions. After getting the allotment letter we need to present in the college for the admission procedures and should present all the documents including the 10th and 12 th mark sheets. The admission procedure in the college is somewhat lengthy and in my case it took a whole day and was tiresome

Faculty

4.5

Faculty to student ratio varies depending on the department. But in most of the departments the ratio is stable and the facualties provide the best learning experience. All the facualties are well qualified in their own department and are the best in the state. Along with treatment and surgeries they also show high intrest in mentoring and teaching. They are both best doctors as well as best teachers. Most of them are very approachable and helpful

Even though a bit tight and rushy, this is in fact the best curriculum provided and followed by all medical colleges in kerala. The frequency of exam is high and difficulty level is as same as that of KUHS. This provides relevant experience for the students to weite the university exams

Course Curriculum Overview:

It's always relevant to the content being taught by the teachers. They always use application based questions to prepare us for a real life situation as well. First aid training was also completed. Some of the teachers are very interactive while some not. Short exams are conducted on a weekly basis while internal exams are conducted every 2/3 months. Not that difficult but it isn't that easy either. Very strict checking, nothing is liberal.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is a pretty hard one i must say but the feeling of putting on a white coat and looking after patients is surreal and that's the main essence of the job. The curriculum is very vast but each subject is important in its own way. The exams are all conducted in such a way that there's enough time for us to prepare .
