The campus is very big but not well managed and must be properly maintained and cleaned.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is totally based on syllabus provided by AICTE and being an autonomous college they provide topic in the syllabus which is required for field work and job purpose. Exam structure is the same as another college 8 semesters in 4 years. Each in the month of December and May. Two internals for each subject in between semesters.
Placement Experience
Placement is good and the present scenario and are increasing day by day. Almost 70% of the students get placed, the mass recruiters being TCS and CTS. One student got placed in Qualcomm, and 20 students got placed in Robert Bosch. The average salary package offered by CTS was 3.64 lacs per annum for 90 students from different branches. Students also get internships in the 2nd and 3rd year of there study.
College Events
Jeclat is the cultural fest of the college, Sristi being the technical fest. Scholarships are provided for poor students. A lot of extracurricular activities are conducted for students, and there are 17 clubs like coders club, a center for innovation, drama, dance, music, and quiz. The college has its own band called Calliphony. Nss is also active campus cleaning and tree plantation is also done.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee of the college is nominal compared to other private colleges of West Bengal under WBJEE. College fees for 4 years are less than per semester fee of some college. For mechanical civil and electrical 40 k for 4 years CSE and ECE 70k for 4 years. For information technology 1.10 lakh. In the first year, you have to pay 10-12 k at time of admission than 5 k in the second semester. total 17-18k for the first year.
Fees and Financial Aid
No, I have not opted for any scholarship or educational loan as the fee is 40k for 4 years for core branch and 1 lakh for it so we don't need it but if one needs it then can apply for a scholarship provided by state govt and also there are several scholarships provided by alumni also.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel fee is 1 lakh for 4 years there are 5 hostels 4 each for boys student of all year one for girls student of all year. The hostel is good in condition and the food provided is good here and the hostel is cleaned on regular basis. Hostel fees per semester are 12-13 k.
Admission
To get into college one has to seat for WBJEE exam which held every year in the month of April or May. And secure rank in between 3k -8k for CSE 3k-5k, ECE and EE 4-7k Civil and mechanical branch 4-8 k. After securing a rank in WBJEE one has to seat for WBJEE counseling which held in the month of June and student have to apply online for that and then after getting a seat in counseling come to JGEC for admission with necessary documents. Most probably in July mid.
Faculty
Faculty: Teachers here are all well-qualified and helpful. They nurture young talents quite well and discuss all the topics with us. The faculty to student ratio is good here. They help us intensely. And also indulge students in research works. They are supportive.
