Likes
- Academics is very good. The college particularly focuses on the academic and made it very strict. Students with scores greater that 9 gpa have benefits which makes us competitive to be better and study well than gooding around.
- Provides elective courses, languages and other social courses which makes us gain knowledge on prospects other than Btech.
- Have all the lab facilities and infrastructure.
Dislikes
- Very strict. College is unnecessarily strict in a few things which makes us feel suffocated sometimes.
- Hostels are not up to the standard for the fee we pay. Boys get better facilities in hostels than girls
- Need to focus more on co curricalr activities and fun that we are supposed to have in college.
Course Curriculum Overview
Curriculum is effective for what we chose. We have labs for almost all courses therefore we get to apply whatever we learned there. The time table is fully flexible so we can attend classes at convient timings. Academic wise we have the freedon to chose the subjects we can learn without having to follow a strict boring timetable.
Internships Opportunities
I have not yet got an internship since its my first year. But there are seniors who got internships which even pays almost 12k. We got hands on workshops and webinars from IIT madras and all. Which is a really good opportunity for a first sem student.
Placement Experience
Placements are good. Provides good placement. 100 percent placement is there unless you engage in some activities where you get debarred. Companies visit often. Both vellore main campus and chennai sit for placements together. Which is a bit complicated and competitive to get into good end jobs
Fees and Financial Aid
Scholarships are apparently not available here. Indian admissions are through entrance exams and rank system. According to rank and our fees depends upto category 5. Category 1 fee being lowest for good ranks and high for lower ranks
Campus Life
There are a lot of clubs in the college . Chennai campus alone has almost 131 clubs and around 20 special teams. Which gives us hands on experience to all the teams and hackathons. Clubs even conduct national level hackathons which makes us gain experience.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facilities are nit up to the fee we pay. The hostel and housing here is veey expensive. Especially girls hostel. The good is good provides decent meal with both south indian and borth indian options to choose from.
Admission
The course was alloted according to my rank accordingly. We had a course registration and allotment which was online therefore it was very convenient for us. The admission process were all online and up to date which didn't cause much of a havoc. I feel it would be better if they extended the deadlines a bit.
Faculty
Some faciulties are really good having knowledge in their respective domain. Where as some faculties even though they have phd degrees from abroad and all doesn't know how ro express their knowledge on the same. We have more than enough facultiea for every subject and every faculty is approachable. Moat of them are chill and teaches well
