An insight to my college life in AGBS,Noida

I guarantee you the college life in AMITY GLOBAL BUSINESS SCHOOL, NOIDA will be a complete new exposure for the students out there. It will be a new life altogether where at the end of the day a student entered here on the first day will see how far he/she had changed overall as a different personality. There are extracurricular I have not specified earlier like compulsory Military Training camp and Student exchange programme that will further enhance your experience here.

It's not just the MBA that AGBS offers it is PGPM+MBA.So, with theoretical knowledge given in MBA, one also enhances his/her knowledge with practical application of the theory under PGPM. The pattern of the course curriculum is very systematic and the 2 years, of course, is divided into 4 semesters, the exams for which are held in May and November. The environment of the college is very professional basically you get a little insight into a corporate world this is how AGBS makes the overall environment to be felt like. There are assignments, presentations, and mid-terms with given deadlines. At times you are handed over the responsibilities to manage and conduct certain events which of course pressurize you but at the same time prepares you for the corporate world outside. I, myself as a student of AGBS have with this experience gone through a tremendous change in terms of my time management skills, presentation skills, and communication skills.

The placements are really good by the end of the 3rd-semester maximum number of students were already placed in reputed companies. Some of them have already started working in the perspective organizations. AGBS, Noida assures you with 99% placement and it is all because of the teachers like Dr.prof Aparajita Das Gupta Amidst and Mr.Ishtdev sir who takes so much pain to get each and every student to be placed. I, myself have sat for 7-8 companies that included Deloitte, HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel, Amazon, IndusInd bank, by us and have been placed in Tech Mahindra. The preparations start by the end of 2nd sem where various sessions take place regarding the group discussion, interview and personal grooming, for which people best in their fields are called in the campus like Mr. Karni Singh from Viacom (MTV), Mr. Sondhi, who currently takes grooming sessions for air hostesses in Franklin. Talking about the internships, it is compulsory to have 2 months of summer internship as a part of the course requirements. The internships are also provided by AGBS itself and tha t too in reputed companies. So, students who are unable to find internships on their own do not need to worry. As AGBS, Noida takes responsibility for its each and every student. You can undertake an internship in your field of specialization, being a finance student I have done my internship from NJ India Pvt Ltd, it is Asia's largest mutual fund distributor and again, it was provided by the college itself.

Well, I don't need to talk about the events that take place in AGBS as I guess everyone is well equipped with the number of events that place here. I would like to list a few: Starting from the very 1st day there is an orientation that takes place for all the freshers where we made well informed about the rules and regulations, the facilities and much more that will happen in the coming time. The orientation takes place with a small Havan so as to seek blessings of God before starting a new batch. Then we have a teachers' day celebration. Freshers for the new batch. Biz bash which is a marketing meal in order to develop marketing skills in students where each group of student put up their stalls of whether eatables, clothes, jewelry or anything and sell in the campus to other students or faculties. Best of which gets awards in many fields. Inter AGBS in which all ages colleges like AGBS Chandigarh Bhubaneswar, etc participate in dance and music. Corporate meet, where big industrialists are called upon and discussions are held on various knowledgeable topics. Amity youth fest Sangathan, which is a sports event.A grand Farewell for seniors to bid them goodbyes and wish them luck for future. AGBS, Noida also undertakes many quiz competitions like HR quiz, Marketing quiz, etc. Buget session is held every time the new budget is passed to make the students well aware of it.

The total fees for the entire course is 712000. Which is divided into 4 installments. The first installment includes Rs15000 as a security which is fully refundable making it Rs 185000. The other 3 equal installments of Rs 170000 is to be paid at the beginning of the new semester.

I did not opt for any scholarship or education loan, but yes there is a criterion for this a student scoring above 85%in their previous course or in 10th and 12th will be eligible for the scholarship. And any student can easily avail a students loan for this course.

AGBS, Noida has one of the finest campuses. Amity University Noida is spread in 60 acres of land and it has very Facility available that one can think of Medical dispensary Gymnasium Arcadia, which is the gaming spot for the students, with many games like pool, bowling, carrom, etc. Dominoes, CCD, Subway and number of canteens. Bookstore and stationary Salon and much more. Other than the facilities the number of events that keeps on taking place on the campus in regular days makes it a fun place. The H block especially is always booked one or the other events, parties and dance performances. Ths gender ration in opinion would be 50:50 there is approximately equal number of boys to girls in the campus.

My seniors are very much in contact with us as well as faculties and are often invited to various events. They are also called upon during the placements in order to guide us in the preparation for interviews. Whether it be sharing their experience regarding their placements or helping us in our SIP reports. They have always been a great support.

The admission for the MBA batch starts in the month of June, the process for the admission is as follows : -An entrance test. - A group discussion - An interview The scores of all three components are taken into consideration for final admission into the course. My journey of pursuing my post graduation from AGBS started by shortlisting 4-5 colleges amongst which AGBS, Noida suited me the best in terms of placements, faculty and the kind of crowd. I got admission after I passed through all the above procedures.

The faculty is well qualified, most of the teachers are doctorates (Ph.D. holders). The overall staff of AGBS is very cooperative. Each section of students is given their respective mentors who guide you throughout your course not only in the education-related field but also in the issues of your personal life. From helping you in your assignments, finding and suggesting you the good internships and jobs, the teachers are helping hand to their students during the college life as well as beyond. I know many of my seniors with whom our teachers are still in touch guiding them ahead in their life.
