- Wonderful and Beautiful Campus and infrastructure.
- The hostel mess food quality is nice and healthy.

Dislikes
- In my department at that time there were shortage of professor, so we got very less elective core courses.
- Strictness about the class attendance. There is around 85% attendance compulsory.
- Hostel room size. In single they were assigning two students.
Course Curriculum Overview
Choosing of subjects is difficult because the provide only course name and course credit. The professor who is assigned to that perticular course and syllabus, they won't give. The course were based on Real world applications. Increase the number of professors and teach separately for B.Tech, M.tech and Phd students.
Internships Opportunities
TI, Qualcomm,Ril and many more core companies were came for internship. Hardly 40-50 percentage students get oncampus internship with average stipend of 30000pm. The project were really real world problems based which help to get a better campus placement. Also 6 month internship were provided to students at 8th sem.
Placement Experience
After 3rd year means from starting if the 4th year students are eligible for campus placements. Hiveminds, parikshit etc company came to campus but no was selected. Highest package was 96LPA and average of 8-10Lpa. 80-90% students are getting placement in every year. Doing any job to support family.
Fees and Financial Aid
Tuition fee is zero for SC, ST and below 1Lakh family income students. Hostel fee is okay. They took hall establishment fee of 10000 per year that is very high. Below 1lakh family income students mostly all are getting scholarships. But above 1lakh family income students there are hardly any scholarship.
Campus Life
Tech fest Innovision held on September, sports fest Vriddhi held on October and cultural fest Cosmo held on February celebrity night held on March. Easily accessible to all features of library. Smart class rooms with AC. Extracurricular activities were excellent working here. Every club activities were run by students.
Hostel Facilities
In hostel room LAN connection with 3mbps speed of unlimited data. No AC are divided in the hostel room. Hostel mess food menu and food quality is very good. Once you took admission in NITR automatically hostel will be allocated. 100% residency, some special/medical cases some may stay outside the campus.
Admission
NIT Rourkela, EIE department, and male SC category student JEE main cutoff are around 1lakh in home state Odisha. The application date is just after the JEE Advance exam results. JEE exam difficulty is high. Do counseling properly with an experienced person or get help from them.
Faculty
Specially in ECE department there were shortage of professors. In one class one professor assigned to teach B.tech, M.tech and Phd students. Where in less class strength teaching quality is good and in high class strength teaching quality is poor a little bit. Teachers behaviour is good.
