Honest review

I actually chose this course because in our college it is way too practical and faculties not only teach the theories but we have more number labs. Talking about the course curriculum, it is a little old and needs to be improved. There are only two exams mid-semester and end-semester for each course in a semester and they are of medium level.

From 6 semesters students become eligible for the placements. Companies like Mahindra, Ford, Amazon, and Qualcomm were the major companies that visited our campus. The highest package this year is around 46 lakhs and the average package is around 13 lakhs. The percentage of students that are getting placed is around 90 percent and the placement percentage is good despite of recession. After getting the degree I want to pursue my career in the information technology field because from the start my interest was computer science but due to my main marks I got mechanical.

The fee is 120000. As it is IIIT, so compared to other IIITs, it is a little less expensive and fees have not increased in these two years. If we want financial assistance then we have to go for outer sources. College doesn't provide any scholarship or aid.

The annual cultural fest hed in our college is Samgatha which typically happens in April and the technical fest is Vashisht which typically helds in February. In the library we get almost all curriculum books and journals are also available. Overall library is kind of very good in our college with ACs in it . So students prefer to go to library and study. All the classrooms are equipped with projectors , fans lights and some big hall classrooms Acs are also available. Benches are in very good quality and overall infrastructure of the classrooms are very good. The sports in our college is very good . Every sport is available with their courts like basketball badminton tennis volleyball cricket football etc. there are coaches who teaches different sports and our college this year stood first in inter iiit. Sports meet which was held in iiit allahabad this year. There are various technical clubs like mars , robotics, under water robotics etc which enhances students knowledge and helps.

In the girls hostel we are provided with single rooms with bed almirah table chair and balcony for each room . The rooms are very decent compared to other government colleges. There are fourteen floors in our hostels with twenty rooms in each floor and common washroom. The cleanliness is very good and maintained by the cleaning staffs . The mess food is decent. But it is not very good . As our college is in south and I'm from north , I don't like the idli and dosas they make every alternate days . Sometimes the taste of food is really bad but generally it's okayish and can be eaten. We need to live in the hostels only if our home not in Chennai and there are very less no of students who are day scholars and I don't have much idea about the pg rent accomodation.

The admission process was the typical jossa format only and in Jee mains, you need to be under 40k rank to be eligible for this course. The admission process in college was smooth and there were no such difficulties. I come from a general background so I didn't get any reservations but reservations are available for the obc, NCL, and SC, ST students.

The faculty in our college has a good amount of number but can't exactly say about the ratio. The teaching methodology is kind of good, sometimes they are helpful too, but there are some professors who are way strict and ask you a hell lot of questions before helping you. So students don't find it good to approach them. I interact mostly with my course faculties and they are good actually who help me clear any doubt.
