Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Electronics and communication is one of the best branches. It provides anyone with an edge to choose from core or software field. Even as Artificial Intelligence is growing rapidly, this branch is expecting a rapid growth, even India is building up many semiconductor sites across different states. The curriculum is made according to our course and even daughter branches like VLSI have been added. Now, students are having to learn more by opting minor courses as per their wish. Even many other courses are being added by the college for students recently. This is the area where we might think that the college need to improve. Examinations are conducted on very sincerely basis with easy to moderate difficulty level mostly. But they are frequent throughout the semester and part of the evaluation. The Marking is relative like any other IIT.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Just like Placement , Internships opportunities are provided in the college in your 3rd Year. Many students even get PPO(Pre Placement Offer) during internships. They are good just like the placements. Same type of companies visit in internship and good stipend is provided. This year 4-6 students have recieved highest stipend of 1.5 lakh.

Placement Experience

4.5

Placement were really nice in 2023. The median packages were near to 18lpa in CSE and ECE. This year they have fallen down significantly may be due to recession. This issue is faced across all college and even IIT's. The average package was near to 10lpa for all branches. Median packages for ECE and CSE was about 14lpa this year. Highest package for year 2023 was 83lpa and this year it was near to 53-58lpa. the student in case are unable to get on campus placement , then look for off campus. In 2023, placement percentage was good across all branches.

Fees and Financial Aid

The tution fees for complete 4 year Btech course is almost 7,71,000 and it increase every year. if you are interested to opt for hostel then it will cost you somewhere 81,500 for a year + mess charges. The hike in fees completely depends on situation, like during covid it was different and now it is different. The above fees is inclusive of compulsory fees for year 23-24. The college even provide scholarships to SC/ST students and those who need financial help. Alumni network do support for the same. The placement cell of the college is really good and dedicated. The median package for 2023, was near about 18 lpa for ECE branch.

Campus Life

5

The campus life is amazing. The infrastructure is not that much good but still you have great opportunities. Students organize events like PECFEST, E-SUMMIT on their own and that to be successfully. The student clubs and societies are really good and one who is dedicated and learn alot from it. The seniors are really helpful. Library is not much big but satisfactory. Books are mostly issued by one or other student. The facility in classrooms can be considered decent and not much good. You will have AC, Projectors but trust me many needed a replacement. Sports, swimming, gym there are many things in the college. Even HPL(Hostel Priemere League ) is conducted every year. There is student council cell for students, Students even visit NGO's.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel facilities for 1st and 2nd year is not much good. The rooms allocated are not very good but ok. A hostel student council is made which look into the matters of hostel and even can change the mess menu. Mess prepare decent food, Sometimes it is very good and other time you might not feel it eating. But for true it is the case of most of the colleges. But yes they charge more in comparision to the facility provided. The PG might sound cheaper and better than hostel. There are good PG available near by. Registration for Hostel are quite easy and can be done on day of admission only.

Admission

To get into PEC, Chandigarh you need to give JEE Mains as it comes under GFTI. There is also some quota for Toppers of Jammu or some state which allows you to study in this college. The application form to give JEE mains open every year and it is being conducted by NTA. The fees is near about 1000 for the application form. Reservation quota like SC/ST, sports, defence are applicable and students are benefited through it. Anyone who studies 11th and 12th nicely and prepare under right guidance can easily crack JEE mains. Different shifts have different level of difficulty but accordingly percentile vary so one need not to be tensed about it.

Faculty

4.5

Faculty of the college is pretty good. Many are qualified from good colleges or else they have knowledge about their subjects. But yes, it's true they can't be considered very much good, and one is required to put efforts to perform well. Faculty to student ratio is ok according to what we except in any government college . It is near to 60 students per 1 teacher in a particular subject, more similar to any IIT. We can interact with teacher easily and there is not much problem with that. Even a class representative is their to look after your issues who will be assigned from your class on voting basis.

Interview Experience

5

No, This is a government college and admission is based on JEE mains so no need of any GD, Interview or writting Test but yes you would be taught all about this after coming to college to improve your soft skills and to prepare yourself for Placements and internships.
