Experience of an undergrad

The course curriculum is good as i think of the new digital world,as an inspiring software engineer i find the course relevant for the modern world,teaching about various domains machine languages and the current requirements of the market.Letting us not only to think limited but also to explore and shine with the startup culture.Few improvements are required which i consider is to having more practical applications then theoritical importances,we should understand the complexities of the digital world and get ready for every environment which will be required to switch on,the exams are quite difficult and almost every month we find exams either as internal or as mid semester or end semester from theory to practical thus making little difficult ,but making us ready for the real world full of challenges.

at present the comapnies do not visit campus to provide internship oppurtunities but the students has to mail or by facing competitive rounds approach to the company for providing the internships. some of the prominents internships oppurtunities are google summer of code etc.students have to contribute on various projects develop the required skills to get selected for the internships oppurtunities as well as the pre-placement oppurtunities.

The placements in the college is average as during 2023-24 it was recession period all over the colleges are facing placements lags but still college students managed to achieve 22 lakhs+ off campus as well as 16 lakhs on campus placement.The college reached his highest placement of 51 lakh during 2023 ,the average package is 5-6 lakh and the placements percentage are 85 percent for cse students,the students completing 7th semester are eligible for on campus placement drive as well as off campus,some of the prominent companies visited are Microsoft, cognizant, samsung, byjus,infosys and 50 more.I will prepare for gate and after that i will try to get on and off campus placements which i will find better accept the offer.

YES,the most terrible thing is the high fees comparison to the facilities available,the cost of my complete course including the living expense is 17 lakh 46 thousands in which the college has provided one laptop worth 55k ,rate of fee hike is quite high ,there are few scholarships provided by the college is gp birla scholarships which is based upon your jee mains ranks or your semester grades from 100 percent scholarship to 20 percent,it is quite hard to get it because of the competitive and challenging mindset of the students giving a tough competition.there are also scholarships provided to staffs and faculty childrens of bit mesra as well as there are also some scholarships for the students lost there parents and financial support during the semester.

There are two major fests which occur in an year Utthan the techinal and cultural fest of bit deoghar it is 3 days fest it occurs during december ,the second is aagaz one day fest it occur during october start,there are also small technical and cultural events organized from coding to bit got talent. Our library has a vast collection of books journals etc.you can access the library from 9 am to 5 pm there is also a reading room in the library , you can issue multiple books from the library. Each and every classroom have smart boards for making learning easy as well as understanding visually, All the labs are air conditioned and spacious. sports facility is quite low but you can enjoy the badminton and basketball as well as voleyball are highly popular,due to small ground cricket and fotball lags, There are multiple clubs for students from art to dancing, acting, coding etc.some social groups are also run for the welfare of nearby villages of the college.

The hostel facility is good 24*7 electricity with 2 fans in each room having proper windows for air circulation.the room size is big for 2 persons in each room but with 3 it becomes little conjusted.Each room and corridors as well as toilet are cleaned daily ,there are also geysers in bathroom for hot water.The meals are healthy as well as good as compared to other colleges what i got review,the menu is designed by the students elected mess commitee among students.the hostel cost 15000 per semester along with 5000 mess charge for each month.there is no provison for living outside campus for btech students unless special case.

For taking admission in this college you should must give jee mains exams,as this college is now lister under josaa and csab therefore maximum of it seats and alloted through this counsellings,some of the vacants seats are filled by the internal counselling conducted by the bit mesra considering jee mains rank.I got admission to this college through jee mains rank in the csab 1st round into the btech in computer science and engineering.the application forms of jee mains can be found on the NTA website with its own form fees for the exam.In the jee mains reservation is provided according to the category,the exam level is moderate to hard the exam is conducted twice in an year most probably jan and april.the internal counselling forms can be found on bit mesra website after jee mains exams. the cutoff ranges from 88 percentile above for general ,80 + for obc as well as for Ews and 70+ for sc/st.

the faculty to student ratio is quite good 25:1 which i consider is good for an engineering college,faculties are polite and considers doubts and provide solutions for the questions asked.they always tries to make the concept clear to understand and think practically over it and implementing it.Faculties are maximum phd holders and some iitians having great knoys wledge about their fields,they also manage to take extra classes for the weak students and even ready to teach during holidays.from providing notes and sharing materials they guide us complete about the topics holding our hands till the last day os semester exams.we can interact with our teachers either after the class or when they got free ,if they are busy they will tell you the time they will get free if something urgent to be discussed you can even call or text them if required.

i had written the jee mains exams twice.after scoring the required percentile i got admission in this college through csab round.the test is based on 11 and 12th grade syllabus of maths physics and chemistry, syllabus is being announced my jee mains .you can get admission either by jossa and csab counselling or by internal counselling conducted by bit mesra . i prepared for jee mains by taking online course from pw and also from youtube.
