Course Curriculum Overview

4

I am coming from a commerce background and therefore to carry on further with it i chose BCom (Hons). This course at DU is among the most popular as it raises your chances of getting placements unlike other courses like BA or BSc. The curriculum prepares you for further academic pursuits but about the preparations for the real world applications are mostly uncertain. However, they do teach you accounting softwares like TallyPrime in this course. This is relevant.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

The placement cell of Ramjas brings up internship opportunities. UpGrad, Justdial, lenskart, flipkart, bisleri, pw, unacademy, snapdeal are some of the companies offering internships at roles like Marketing, Sales, HR, Research. Please check out the instagram handle of placementcell_ramjas for more info.

Placement Experience

4

Students from 5th Sem become eligible for campus placement. Companies from various domains like Finance, HR, Marketing, Media and Research visit the campus. Some of the prominent recruiters are DE Shaw, Deloitte, Pwc, Flipkart, Zomato, Byjus, Ditto insurance, Grant Thronton, Tata Power, Godrej Properties etc. My plan is to get placed with high packages after my degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

the tuition fee and the complete cost of education in the year 2023 for BCom (Hons) was Rs 15,906 per year. This is quite cheap and hike rates are also expected to be low. Do check out the latest college fee structure in their website. The college disburses the fee paid back to the students as per their annual income level under the financial aid scheme. They refund upto 100% of your fee if your income level is below Rs 4,00,000. I have not taken any campus employement yet but the placement and internship opportunities at Ramjas is quite good. We have a dedicated Placement Cell assigned with that task.

Campus Life

4

Ramjas hosts its annual cultural festival called Mosaic in the months of Apr-May. The library of Ramjas is spacious but has mostly textbooks and newspapers, magazines etc. The classrooms have good quality benches are well ventilated with windows. It does not have AC but fans. It has a green board and non functional projector. Ramjas is famous for its ECA and sports. We have a dedicated Sports Block with large fields and courts for football, cricket, basketball, volleyball, athletics, and indoor games inside the block. Ramjas has all the major societies that any other DU college has like Enactus, Consulting, Finance, Literature, Photography, Dance, NSS etc.

Hostel Facilities

4

Ramjas has hostels for both boys are girls with 100 seats for boys and 80 seats for girls respectively. The food quality and menu at the hostel is 7/10. After getting admission at the College, you need to apply separately for the hostel and get the verification done. The hostel is affordable costing around Rs 40,000 per semester which includes all kinds of facilities. I have rented a room at Kamla Nagar (~800m from Ramjas) at Rs 12,000 sharing with a roommate. You can rent rooms/PGs/ Flats in Kamla Nagar, Vijay Nagar, GTB Nagar, Malka Ganj etc nearby places.

Admission

Any class 12th from recognized board was eligible for the course. You need to take the CUET-UG test that year and select your domains and English to be eligible for BCom (hons). The application fee for CUET UG was around rs 1500 and for DU was around Rs 250. There are various reservations available from Gen, OBC, ST, SC, Kashmiri Migrant, Foreign students, etc. CUET-UG is conducted once a year in the months of Apr-May. The exam is easy-moderate covering mostly class 12th syllabus and general english and aptitude. The admission process was quite lengthy as we had to fill up 2 forms for a university-- first CUET form and then the respective form of the university. The examination system was very uncertain as it is a new exam. They could improve on these two things.

Faculty

3

The faculty to student ratio is around 1:80 in BCom (Hons). The faculty is well qualified while some of them being professionals in their fields like CAs. However, their teaching methodology is very lazy and ineffective. There are many class cancellations. I would rate it 6/10 when it comes to teaching & learning at Ramjas.

Other Applied Colleges

Shri Ram College of Commerce - [SRCC] | Bachelor of Commerce [B.Com] {Hons.}

Could not clear the cutoffs

Banaras Hindu University - [BHU] | Bachelor of Commerce [B.Com] {Hons.} (Finance)

Their placement aspect is not as good the university of delhi.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i choose this course because I didn't got what I wanted. Many students are from arts background who got this course because they had no option. The curriculum is same as school all chapters and everything. The law section is new. About buisness and law and everything. Rest is same. Changes in curriculum is not in their hands. But if they could actually change the accounting syllabus. The timing of exams is normal 2:30 to 6:30. And internal test taken by perspective teacher are according to their time and class. They will take retest incase you didn't attended.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really was interested in finance and taxation from the beginning. This course aligned rightly with my interests. The curriculum is based on real world applications. Corporate accounting, financial accounting, company law, human resource management, these are very important considering change in the job market and business world. Not only real world applications but one can also go for further academic pursuit such as a master's degree and research. This makes the curriculum really diverse. Some areas of suggestions would be that in theory subjects there should be practical activities. Just like vestibular training. The time of exams is just right. After the completion of syllabus of a particular subject, we are given 10 days of preparation leave. The exams are moderate and it really tests our ability and knowledge based on our studies.

For placements fifth semester student are eligible for placements. Since it is best commerce college. Companies like big 4, google, bank of America, Goldman Sachs, bcg, bain and co., Sbi, paytm, meesho and many more comes. The highest package was 36 LPA this year from meesho for senior analyst roles. Average package is 10 LPA. Most of the placements take place in consulting, marketing, auditing, finance and analyst roles. Around more than 50% of the students get placed. My plan is to take placements in consulting and finance roles after the degree from the college.

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In open learning management.. they provide hard copy of books tk prepare whole semester and this is a very good thing because those books are covering whole semester in some books only and there is a v good thing I found... At the end of every chapter they provide summaries and mock questions for every chapter to analyse the weakness and strength. the areas for improvements in the Course Curriculum and Teaching Methods--- they should also provide a mock test paper as per the paper model and latest questions or updated topics with to the point topics The difficulty is normal if candidate is completely prepared...
