Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course curriculum is not that good , it's pretty average compared to IITs and NITs. Most of the subjects have theory aspects only ,they don't have practical clarity and also teachers also not clear the practical approach of the subjects. In Electronics and Telecommunication we have studied only the basics of the topics but not been taught the practical aspects of the topics and their use in real world. The curriculum does not teach you the applications of the topics. If they teach the practical application of every topic then it would be much better and students also gets clarity about the topics and subjects. The internals in our college are usually after every 35-40 days, and there are 3 internals for each subject and after 3 Rd internals ,there will be internals for lab subjects and then the externals which will last for 10 days for 6 theory subjects.

Internships Opportunities

4

There is no as such internship opportunity provided by college ,in 7th sem you got placed in companies and in whole 8th semester you are doing internship with the company and after that joining them full time. College has MOU signed with companies like Tata Elxsi, Cognizant, Accenture and many others, which generally provide internship opportunity before Full- time.

Placement Experience

4

Usually the placement process starts from end of 6th semester till 8 th semester, also they allow for placement after the graduation also for those who didn't get any offer. Till 2023 the placement are like awesome in our college , almost 50-60 % students get more than 2 offers but in 2024 they have merged their other two campuses in the main campus placements so that those campus students also get placed, which badly affected the college's reputation in the market and also the overall percentage. Due to this pool placement, the circuit branches and non coding branches sees challenging placement season this year, around 60% students are only got placed till now from these branches. So this is the big demerit of this college,if they continue to do this in future placements. Also the recession also decreases the number ,but then also they have managed to placed majority of their students who have some coding knowledge or idea of the technical skills.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee structure for our college is different for Karnataka students and other state students. For Comedk students as I also was a Comedk student ,the fee was 2.5 lakhs for each year but now it increased to 3.1 lakhs per year. For Karnataka students ( kcet) the fees was 80 thousand but they also get scholarship rebate of around 40-50 k which decreases their fees to 30-40 k per year. The other state students have to pay much here and also they don't get any scholarship also. There is no scholarship for Comedk students in our college but Kcet students did get scholarships. College do not provide any campus employment other than placements which is only for final year students.

Campus Life

4

Their are two fests which are organised every year in DSCE which are ,Furore( Main fest) celebrated in August and Vibrations in January - February (Tech fest) ,also as the college has Buisness management courses also ,so they have their own fest which is celebrated inside the college campus only. The library of the college is very good ,you can find any book in the library and also they have a wide range of ebooks and e-learning material available in their closet. The library has very large sitting area and don't have that much rush also. The environment of the library is very good and peaceful. Every year Inter- Branch cricket, football, volleyball and basketball tournament is organised and the best performers are choosen for inter college competitions. The students in the cultural clubs find little difficult to manage the balance as many branches are strict about attendence and scolds those who are absent due to cultural activities, like they have to generate proofs every time.

Admission

If you have scored 65% marks in your 10th and 12th then you are eligible for applying. You can apply for the admission through Comedk ( if you are from other state) or KCET ( if you are from Karnataka) . You will get form in Comedk website and after exam if you clears the cutoff for the course you want to take , then you have to visit the college and complete the admission process. The cutoff for CSE ,ISE closes within 2-3k Comedk rank ,while for ECE it is 9-10 k and for ETE and EEE it closes around 15-18k . The difficulty of the entrance exam ( Comedk) is not that much compared to Jee mains ,it usually equivalent to 12th CBSE syllabus. Every year the Comedk is organised once in May end and application deadline is 5th of April. The results will be out by mid or last June and the councelling process starts in July and end by mid August. There are total 3 rounds of councelling process and also after the first round you have to pay the first year fees, which is unethical in my views.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty to student ratio is preety decent in my college and also they are easily approachable to students. They try very actively in class to teach students but some of them don't able to explain the topics much and clear. Most of the faculties are PhD holders and they are good in their specialisation subjects, but lack in new generation subjects like AI . In projects and all they support you as much as they can and didn't disturb students much ,but you have to finish your work on time. Some of the faculties are approachable in night also on call after college hours but some faculties are very strict and they don't help much , they simply give guidelines that's it.
