Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I am pursuing CA and Bcom (H) is complementary to it. Bcom H course offered by University of Delhi (DU) is one of the most reputable courses. It does prepare you for real world applications especially with the NEP- Skill enhancement courses (SEC), Value added courses (VAC) and Ability enhancement courses (AEC) The discipline specific courses as well electives are both real world oriented. It enables students to not only know the theory and logic behind things but also how to apply them in daily lives. Exams are held twice a year, semester pattern- May/June and Dec/Jan. The exam papers are prepared scientifically keeping in mind the capacity of an average student, not so hard, but also not so easy. Internal tests are also conducted for the making of Internal assessment. As to improve this course, more field trips and training during the college years itself, to enable students having some experience before the placement.

Internships Opportunities

4

Delhi University has its own summer internship program. Students of all semesters can apply in it. It pays pretty well, about 10000 lump sum. Its a goof opportunity for students to getting used to office environment. They have all kinds of roles for every course. Other companies also come to campus for recruitment.

Placement Experience

3.5

5-6th semester onwards students are eligible for campus placements. A lot of companies visit our college campus looking for students to take up placements. The highest and average package differs from company to company. Approx 80% of the students find placements while others either don't take up placements or are already occupied with something else like - family business, CA articleship etc

Fees and Financial Aid

Approx 50000/- for 3 year course (bcom H) and 65000/- for 4 year course (bcom H with a minor and research) Scholarships are available, and discounted rates are available for Quotas. The fee structure and scholarships can be found easily on UOD (du) portal and also while applying the students will be informed. Placement is good from the college. The average package is a little less though. There are several internships and other such programs, summer part time jobs etc available for all students.

Campus Life

4.5

There are various fests and events held annually. Each department has their own annual fest and there's one main college fest where every society organises some or the other events. Fest season is typically feb-march-april. Other times of the year we have several conferences, competitions, events, seminars, webinars, etc held. There is an amazing variety of books from academic reference books to novels, magazines, journals, and even daily newspapers (5 different newspapers) in english as well as hindi. There are smart classrooms and they are all spacious and ventilated. There are almost all kinds of sports available- badminton court, volleyball, hand ball, basketball, cricket, football, carrom, chess, table tennis and other indoor games as well. Gym equipments are also available. Student union is there in out college too.

Admission

CUET is the entrance exam for the course. GT+English+Accts/Maths+ Any other domain subject After CUET results are announced, DU CSAS portal opens and candidates need to fill in the form and preference list. The students maybe alloted any of the colleges in the preference list. The student then has two options- to take admission in the college (FREEZE) or to wait for second round for a better college (UPGRADE) MAC, DU is an off campus college and requires a CUET score of about 600-650 for general category and 400+ for Quotas. The portal site hangs a lot, and is very delayed.

Faculty

3.5

1:65 is the average faculty-to-student ratio. It's a good enough ratio as for lectures. For tutorial classes (doubt lectures) the faculty-to-student ratio is 20:1, enabling students to clarify doubts easily and effectively. Each faculty member has a different approach though, it's usually like 3 lectures and 1 doubt class, each week (in batches of 15-25 students). The faculty is quite friendly and approachable. We can contact them easily for any doubts or queries, even on the whatsapp groups or personal chats. There are assignments and 1 internal test towards the end of the semester to mark IA, and CA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i choose this course because I didn't got what I wanted. Many students are from arts background who got this course because they had no option. The curriculum is same as school all chapters and everything. The law section is new. About buisness and law and everything. Rest is same. Changes in curriculum is not in their hands. But if they could actually change the accounting syllabus. The timing of exams is normal 2:30 to 6:30. And internal test taken by perspective teacher are according to their time and class. They will take retest incase you didn't attended.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really was interested in finance and taxation from the beginning. This course aligned rightly with my interests. The curriculum is based on real world applications. Corporate accounting, financial accounting, company law, human resource management, these are very important considering change in the job market and business world. Not only real world applications but one can also go for further academic pursuit such as a master's degree and research. This makes the curriculum really diverse. Some areas of suggestions would be that in theory subjects there should be practical activities. Just like vestibular training. The time of exams is just right. After the completion of syllabus of a particular subject, we are given 10 days of preparation leave. The exams are moderate and it really tests our ability and knowledge based on our studies.

For placements fifth semester student are eligible for placements. Since it is best commerce college. Companies like big 4, google, bank of America, Goldman Sachs, bcg, bain and co., Sbi, paytm, meesho and many more comes. The highest package was 36 LPA this year from meesho for senior analyst roles. Average package is 10 LPA. Most of the placements take place in consulting, marketing, auditing, finance and analyst roles. Around more than 50% of the students get placed. My plan is to take placements in consulting and finance roles after the degree from the college.

The placement is quite good the percentage of students is not same always it changes but only those students with proper knowledge, experience, skills get good placement. There is a proper placement cell for this which is very active. Placement Experience:

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In open learning management.. they provide hard copy of books tk prepare whole semester and this is a very good thing because those books are covering whole semester in some books only and there is a v good thing I found... At the end of every chapter they provide summaries and mock questions for every chapter to analyse the weakness and strength. the areas for improvements in the Course Curriculum and Teaching Methods--- they should also provide a mock test paper as per the paper model and latest questions or updated topics with to the point topics The difficulty is normal if candidate is completely prepared...
