Likes
- The overall Infrastructure of the college is too notch, it's like you're visiting a film city.
- The placement facilities of the college is great, even though my course didn't offer any placements but courses like B. tech and B. Des offer a placement rate of over 75%.
Dislikes
- The fee structure is ludicrous, a bit too expensive for the working class but it's kind of worth it.
- The overall environment of the college is not for the good kids, you'll have to act like a grown-up to make a living there outside of the college.
- The quality of the faculty has decreased severely over the time. 2021 was great for the college, now most of the good teachers have left.
Course Curriculum Overview
I graduated in Maths from UPES so I can only give an overall review about the mathematics segment of the college. The course curriculum is somewhat strange as UG Maths is not what you'd expect in 12th. The teachers are supportive about everything (not all) and are helpful in various aspects of the degree.
Internships Opportunities
There were no actual internships offered in my course but there were social interships that were offered in the first year break. They were of no specific use to use other than experiences in a corporate lifestyle.
Fees and Financial Aid
UPES provides a wide range of scholarships, some of the basic ones being Single girl child Scholarship, Domicile Scholarship etc. Though the tuition is increasing rapidly by every year. When I joined UPES, the fees for B.sc. Mathematics Hons. was around 4.2 lakhs for 3 years, now it's 4 lakhs for around only 2 year, and the degree has extended to 4 years.
Campus Life
The campus life at UPES is amazing as the facilities provided to you by the coll5are immense. any extracurricular activity, be it sports or indoor is supported by the college and all types of facilities are provided for the accomplishment of it. There are annual fests in UPES named UURJA which is a grand fest where every year a new celebrity comes and celebrates the event. The Library at upes is grand. you can find almost any book or journal there.
Admission
Anyone can get into B.sc in UPES as the eligibility isn't too constraining. Everything about the admission process can be completed online. I took admission during the covid period so the process of taking admission in the college was all online. No exams, only interviews.
Faculty
The quality of faculty in UPES has decreased over time, so has the student to faculty ratio. Most of the good teachers has left for better jobs so the present faculty contains of newly experienced teachers who can't understand most of the things themselves.
