Likes
- coding culture is really good , you'll find many of your seniors doing good in coding and even your batchmates also which helps you to also start and learn
- professors are good . they help you a alot. you can reach out to them anytime in their office hours for help in academics.
- infrastructure is good . we have largest lecture complex in asia ie. VLTC . hostels are also good and the food quality in mess is not that good but it's ok
Dislikes
- the class schedule is too hectic. in the 1st year you'll have classes from 8 to 12 and then 3 to 5 .in the second year also it is 9 to 12 and 2 to 5 .
- the mess food quality can be improved. after so many complaints also the warden and mess caretaker doesn't change the catering in the mess . in some of the messes the food is really not good
- some of the professors doesn't really know how to teach . they just come in the class , will teach anything he wants and then leave. students have to study on their own.
Course Curriculum Overview
I'm pursuing BTECH in metallurgical and materials engineering. I choose this course because it seems to be easier then other courses and also i didn't have the option to choose the other courses because of my rank in jee. The metallurgy department is the oldest department in our college. There are so many labs and equipments and machines in our department. Infact there is also materials research centre know as MRC , where the research is done under the guidance of professors. From second year onwards, we have labs in our schedule. Professors also take you for the Industrial visits which is quite amazing. we have 4 exams in 1 academic year ie. 2 sem and in 1 sem there is mid sem exams and end sem exams.
Internships Opportunities
I don't know much about the internship opportunities amd programs in college as I'm in second year. but the seniors tell that there are good internship opportunities available in college. From third year onwards ee can do internship
Placement Experience
usually from 7th sem the students start getting placements so many companies visit the college for the placements. the placements is quite good in comparison with private colleges the avg package of metallurgy branch is approx 8 lacs and the higher package was 41lac in 2022 placement session
Fees and Financial Aid
the tuition fee is fixed and the total fees of the 4 year course including hostel and mess is around 12 lacs The adminstration also provides the scholarship for the students whose family income is less
Campus Life
The college life is the best . You will learn so many things . there are so many clubs in the which are active and are really good some the clubs are think india club , Mavericks club dance club. music club , photography club, etc.
Hostel Facilities
Hostels are also good . you are provided with 24hrs electricity and water in some hostels there is lan facilities also and in some wifi is provided. In 1st year , you'll have to share your room with 2 that means 3 in a room. from second year onwards you'll get single room
Admission
you have to clear jee mains exam to get admission in the MNIT college. On the basis of your rank in mains exam you can opt your course. The admission process is smooth, you'll not face any difficulty in that
Faculty
The faculties in the college have good qualifications in their own field. Many of the professors have done their graduation from the best institutes of india like iits and nits . and many a are also phd scholars from iit. The faculty to student ratio is different for the different branches. For eg, in metallurgy department, there are 16 faculties. and the number of student in a year is approx 100 some 9f the faculties are good they know how to teach and make the leacture interactive but some of the professors are not really good in teaching, they just come and deliver the lecture doesn't matter the students learned anything or not You can go to your professors office in the respective time period for your doubts or you can ask the professors when tou can meet them .
