VIT- A Reality Check

The course varies from semester to semester. Its curriculum covers almost all the aspects that is required to get a decent job in that domain . Their are dedicated labs for the subjects which requires practical technicalities. There are 3 exams in our semester - CAT 1&2 and FAT(CAT- Cumulative Assessment Test, FAT- Final Assessment Test) . The semester lies between 4-4.5 months and the duration between these 3 exams is 1-1.5 months .

The campus arranges various internship programs which includes companies like IBM , Wipro , Infosys, TCS, etc. . The projects includes AI-ML, CYBER SECURITY, DATA SCIENCE, WEB Development. The stipend is between 5000-10000.

Students are eligible for placements and internships from 3rd year itself. Approx. 250-300 companies visit the campus which includes Google , Facebook, Mercedes, Goldmann Sachs , GSOC , Amazon, etc . The average package is between 650000 to 750000. This year we had a highest package of 34 LPA. The placement record is between 85-95% . My plans after the degree is to do a job for 3 years and then Pilot.

There are 5 categories of fee structure according to your performance in VITEEE. I am admitted with 2nd Fee category, so my tuition fee for a single year is Rs 304000. Every year fees is increased by 5% . The average cost you need to bear in order to complete the entire Btech course in VIT is 20 lacs . There is a scholarship prospect in VIT for the those who have financial crises . It amounts to 75-80% of total tuition fees .

We have a cultural Fiesta called Vitopia and Technical fest. These includes 2 days and 2 nights full of fun and entertainment. We have a world class library and E-library. There are various books and journals kept for the students to read . VIT-Ap conducts various sports tournament like inter hostel cricket team, etc. .

There two types of hostel rooms available in vit - AC and NAC , according to the convivence of the students . Food quality is really very pathetic. The registration of hostel is done according to your academic performance and is pretty affordable. The PG is nearby to the college if anyone is interested to stay there.

There is an entrance exam conducted by VIT called Viteee. You need to score 75-80% marks in it, in order to come to this college. The application forms are available online and application fees is Rs 2500 . The Viteee is conducted in various slots and phases according to the convince of the student. They are really very slow in announcing results. I think they need to work upon it .

The faculty to students ratio is 1:20 which is something really very good . The faculties are very helpful and interactive in class which allows you to learn freely. The faculties even solves doubts in their free time in their respective cabins.
