VIT-AP University provides its students the freedom to choose their own degree. In this program, students can choose whichever subjects they would like to study and complete the degree. Each course has specific number of credits, which on completion is added into the students account. Students have to complete specific number of credits specified by the University to gain their degree. Their will be some compulsory courses and optional courses and students have to complete all the compulsory courses and can choose anything from the optional ones.

University regularly sends us emails regarding internship offers, student exchange programs and other such academic programs. Internships also have credits in VIT-AP ( summer internship 2 credits and industrial internship 6 credits ). University is tied up with many reputed and well known industries to try and help their students as much as possible for placements. If anyone fails to secure internship, University offers some valuable courses to complete and compensate for the internship credits.

Placements are good despite being a new college. Almost every student in the last batch has managed to secure a job irrespective of the salary package. It is a great result with market condition being worse and recession taking palce even in the reputated organisations.

Students can get through VIT-AP University either through VITEEE or EAPCET. If students are enroling through VITEEE, fees will be according to the category which will be decided by the rank student achieves: 1) CATEGORY 1: 2,00,000 per annum 2) CATEGORY 2: 4,00,000 per annum 3) CATEGORY 3: 6,00,000 per annum If student is getting through EAPCET, fees will be much less but cutoff is also very low to get through.

There are so many clubs in VIT-AP and they conducts event regularly which improves the social communications in the University. It is compulsoy for every student to join a club atleast for one semester. There is one ground to play and sometimes that ground will be reserved for University teams only and regualr students will not be allowed to play in that ground. Every year University organises 2 mega events VITOPIA and VTAPP one being cultural fest and other one technical fest with all clubs allowed to participate or conduct events at the same time.

There are 4 completed hostels for men and 5th one is half completed and operational. On the other hand, there are 2 hostels for ladies. Due to huge demand for hostels, University has decided not to allot hostels to students who's native is at the nearby areas like Vijayawada, Guntur and provide them with bus services daily. Hostels mess is sometimes good, sometimes very bad that we cannot eat at all. Menus will be changed every month and everyday will be different menu for every hostel. Hostel rooms are very good as compared to other college hostels or PGs.

I have joined through VITEEE exam, i have secured rank around 30,000 and managed to get a seat in CATEGORY 1. With this rank, you can also get a seat in Chennai campus but in category 2 which would be much costlier. Exams are conducted 3 times per semester, 2 being in-sem exams and the last one semester exams. Question paper difficulty is between medium and difficult, but in rare cases we get easy paper also. Relative grading is considered for grade allotment.

There are several grades even for faculties in VIT-AP University, the teaching proffesors are graded the highest and are basically highly qualified and very knowledgable. Lab faculties and assistants are graded the next. Each main faculty is assisted with a junior faculty or a phd scholar as an assistant.

No. I was admitted based on the score of the written test conducted by Vellore Institute of Technology only (VITEEE). There are no interviews for admission in any of the colleges and only rank in the exam is considered for counselling.
