- I like the faculty and facilities provided by the administration the most and also the curriculum provided by the department is up to requirements.
- Hostel facilities are really good and mess services are up to mark.
- Library facilities as well as the classroom environment is perfect.
Dislikes
- Sometimes the syllabus becomes repetitive and too lengthy.
- Focus is more on theory than practical which sometimes creates problems during practicals.
- Biotechnology placements are very average considering that we have higher number of subjects and internships than others.
Course Curriculum Overview
I am from biotechnology course our course curriculum includes all the basic concepts of biology in starting semesters and then moving to biotechnology concepts. It includes major subjects like instrumentation, physiology, bioprocess, biochemistry, engineering mathematics, etc.
Internships Opportunities
For biotechnology students, after the completion of second year of college we have to do a summer internship also known as mini project for atleast 2 months. The location for internship sometimes provided by the faculty or sometimes the students choose themselves.
Placement Experience
Campus placements are quite good especially for btech, MBA , BCA. Most of the time while batch gets placed before their graduation and for computer science students, companies started visiting college in 6th semester.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fee is quite high considering the large number of students, it is a reputable private University and has a brilliant placement record in btech and MBA. Different Scholarship programme are available for students and for biotechnology students we have to go for summer training of minimum two months after our second year.
Campus Life
There are variety of clubs in gla like ninad for singing, natraj for dance, codebusters , GFG for coding, vihiti drama club, biotech club, and some social service chains like Udaan are also a part of gla University campus life.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facility is quite good .we have 3-seater and 2-seater bedrooms wtih separate cupboards for each student.we have different hostel buildings for first year and other years and MBA students. Menu is very good with variety of food in breakfast lunch, snacks and dinner.
Admission
Student who passed 12th with 60-65% marks are eligible but they have to give a computer-based admission test . Admission test is MCQ type and is quite easy. It differs depending upon the type of course you are opting for.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio is high as biotechnology field is till new to students but the admission has increased to 75% within two years of college . I have interacted with my placement head of the department the most as he is also our one of the senior faculties and he has been our excellent guide till now.
Interview Experience
No. We didn't have any group discussion, interview or written interview for admission, just a MCQ based online test which differs according to the type of course you are applying for. The test is quite easy and contains the basics of 12th syllabus.
