My experience of being a student in Gurucharan College Silchar

This is the only college that offer computer science course in Silchar so for that reason I choose this course in GCC College because it offer here only The curriculum is quite good. It tells all the basic and important things that we have to know after enrolling in any graduation courses. There is one problem that teaching method is quite old. They have to introduce smart classes. The frequency and timing of exam is quite reasonable and good. We have six months for semester exam, so it is enough time to learn.

In last semester that is the sixth semester you can go and be placed for campus placement. Because it is an affiliated college of Assam University, so there is quite a few companies came here, but the companies are quite good. Such good IT companies came here such as Deloitte. Wipro, etc. The average package is like 3.2,00,00 per annum and the highest package is like six or seven lakh. Percentage of student getting placement is low because this is an affiliated college, so you have to go to the University for placement. Frankly, this college is not for placement. This college is for higher education. If you want to go for higher education, then you can consider this college.

Tuition fees is quite reasonable. They charged 20,000 per annum for the BSc computer science courses. It is quite reasonable price because in three year, it is only 60,000 and your degree is completed, so it is good. There is no such scholarships available, so they have to introduce new scholarships schemes for student help.

Campus. Life is quite good here because there is a sport event in every year organized by the seniors of our department, so you can learn as well as you can play. There are so many games included cricket, volleyball, badminton, arm, wrestling, etc. The range and the accessibility of books and journal available in the library is good. You can you can learn or do whatever you want in the library, but in the silent mode, it is a good library. All the books are available there. Sports and extra curricular activities are offered on campus. There are clubs such as ABVP This club is concentrated in college development, organizing events, etc.

Admission process is easy the eligibility of the course is, you have to do 60% in your HS exam, and you are done. Then if your name is in merit list then you are good to go. Admission form is collected from counter application fees is also deposit in the counter and also there is an online online method. You can go to college website, and then you can enroll there. There is a reservation for lower caste, such as SAST, OBC, sector. The frequency and timing of exam is quite reasonable because we have exams in every six months, so it is enough time to learn something. The areas where the admission process can be improved is the site that they are using for admission is quite slow, so they can upgrade the site for huge traffic.

The faculties are quite good. They are very supportive and they always help when you are in trouble so in overall, they are good, and if you talk with any of the teacher, they always help. and after you reach in second year, a mentor will provide it to you for your guidance. The faculty to student ratio is quite good because we have three teachers they completely educated us in effective way.
