Course Curriculum Overview

2

The curriculum is not up to date according to the latest trends and needs revision a lot. There are many courses which are irrelevant and old to the students for the industry but still they are taught just for the sake of completion of credits.

Internships Opportunities

4

There are many companies which come to offer the role of software development intern like Google, Microsoft, Uber, BNY Mellon, Wells Fargo, Salesforce, Atlassian, Sprinklr and many more also for hardware intern many big companies come like Texas instruments, qualcomm, western digital, etc with stipend ranging from 50000-200000. For selection in these companies you need to have the knowledge of data structures, web development, OOPS with a solid projects in them. For hardware you need to have the knowledge of digital and analog electronics and also software called verilog and cadence. After ppo all companies pay a hefty amount ranging from 2000000+. Many mid scaled companies also come with their stipend ranging from 20k-50k and ppo+ fte ranging from 8 lacs and above.

Placement Experience

4

There is no such requirement from college side to be able to sit for placements. The companies decide the criteria and the college implements it accordingly. Many big companies like Google, Microsoft, Uber, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Texas Instruments, Bain come to recruit. For instance Google took about 8 people, Texas Instruments took 9, Bain took 33 people, sprinklr took 53 and likewise many companies took a lot of students. Highest package is of 86 lacs offered by Atlassian. Average package is around 12 lacs. For computer science avg package is 18-20 lacs. Around 70% of the students from the whole campus get placement. A few go for higher students and a few go for government jobs preparation. My plan is to go for higher studies after my bachelors in electronics engineering.

Fees and Financial Aid

When I joined DTU the fees was approximately 2 lacs per annum and was increased year but 10% at compound rate. Now it will be around 2.5 lacs per annum and same increasing at the rate of 10%. There are financial assistances available for economically weaker students that there whole tution fees is waived off. Also there are many scholarships for meritorious students such as 90k for getting 10 CGPA and all. The campus placements are very good as all the big giants for tech like Google, Microsoft, Uber, Bain, Texas Instruments and many more come to recruit the students. The process goes on very smoothly and training and placement cell helps the students till On-Boarding.

Campus Life

4

There are many cultural fests that are organised by DTU. Some of them are Innova, Crescendo. The main cultural fest is Engifest in which lacs of people come. Invictus is the sports fest in which there are many games. ENGINX is the technical fest. Generally in every 1 or 2 months fest occurs whether on small scale or large scale. There are wide range of books ranging from novels to study material for preparation of any government exams, further studies or research work. DTU offers a lot of sports and extra curricular activities such as cricket, football, basketball, tennis, badminton, table tennis and many more. There is a huge ground to accommodate many games and also for badminton and table tennis there a separate warehouse. There are many societies in DTU with which the students can upskill themselves and explore their interests. Societies ranging from finance, Coding, Electronics every group is covered.

Admission

The admission process is very smooth. When I took admission that was covid time so everything was online and all the allotment was done through online so no requirement for going to college. The admission is done through JAC portal which is a common portal for state government colleges of Delhi. There is an 85% reservation for students who have done their 11 and 12 from Delhi schools and rest are the standard reservation for OBC, SC, ST, PWD as per government norms. Each semester is of 4 months roughly and after first 2 months midsem happens and after 2 months again end Sem happens. The exams are easy and the students can prepare 2 weeks before the exam and then also can score good marks. The 85% reservation should be reduced as due to it the college does not get diversity of students.

The placements of MAIT are decent as compared to market conditions. But the data shown on website or availble at various platforms is not the reality. The mass chunk of students who get a job are placed under and around 6LPA package.

When it comes to curriculum everything us fine accept 1st year curriculum. My branch is ece in 1st year i have to study chemistry and physics which is no use for anybody in future it is just waste of time pretty outdated. For 2,3 and 4th year curriculum is far better than what it is in 1st year. Odd semester starts form August and after 2 month we have to give midsem exam.1 month after midsem we have to give endsem. There is very short time period between midsem and endsem examinations.Even semester starts form January everything is same as that of odd semester.

So placement cell is not present in college because of low intake of students but the students are very skilled to crack Gsoc , and other internship opportunities which lands them into big company. Also very good alumni network is present in college which boosts the placement of college.

Placements are good in DTU. Usually a student is eligible to sit in placements from 4th year. Last year 325+ companies visited the campus like google, abode, Amazon, Microsoft, zomato, samsung, maruti suzuki, etc. They all have made 2050+ offers. The highest domestic package was offered by Atlanssian of 82.05LPA. The overall average package was 16.71LPA. The average package of my branch (Production and Industrial Engineering) was 12.34LPA. And in tech branches like CSE, IT it was around 24-25 LPA. Almost everyone is allowed to sit for placements. In PIE branch around 60-65% of student got placed in on campus.
