Likes

The infrastructure is really good. Better than a lot of IIT and NITs
The academic environment is very competitive which will force you to study hard and get better grades
They provide a lot of mess options in hostels

Dislikes

The rules are are very strict when compared to other colleges.
There are no ACs in classroom, chennai can get really hot in summers
If you don't maintain good attendance percentage, you're going to have a hard time getting good teachers in FFCS (unless you have 9 CGPA)

Course Curriculum Overview

All the CSE core courses are properly designed but I had problems with the ML course, it was poorly designed and we were not given proper materials to study for the exams. We were also not given sample questions.

Internships Opportunities

The internships start coming in third year. Companies like microsoft, Google, Amazon, de shaw, Jp morgan vist the campus to hire interns. We're also given research internships during the summer breaks.

Placement Experience

Students go to VIT vellore for placements for some of the companies. The average package was around 9.5lpa which is quite good and the highest package was 1cr. Around 900 companies visited VIT overall

Fees and Financial Aid

The college fees varies based on the rank you get in the viteee exam, if you get a really good rank then your fees is going to be 2lpa which is a steal. Branch toppers are given cash prizes which can go up to 10k depending on ur branch. Hostels can be expensive

Campus Life

Two fests are conducted every year, technical fest (technovit) in one semester and a cultural fest(vibrance) in the other. These fests can be some of the most memorable events you'll take part in college. There a lot of technical and cultural clubs you can join any of them based on ur interests

Hostel Facilities

I have to say the mess and hostel in vit channai are really expensive, but the facilities they provide in the hostels are worth it. They provide laundary, vending machines,night canteen. You also have the option to change your mess caterer if you're not satisfied with ur present one

Hostel Fee: INR 225000 per year

Admission

The viteee exam is not a very difficult exam, if you're studying for JEE then this is going to be a cake walk for you. There are no negative marks in the exam. Get a rank below 15k to get cse with 3rd category

Faculty

Most of the profs have PhDs but only some of them can teach really well, some of them have great knowledge in their domain but aren't that great teachers nevertheless they're going to clear doubts if you approach them

Course Curriculum Overview:

Specific schedule is not followed in college regarding the academic and co curricular activities. Sudden decisions will be taken by the management which is a bit difficult for the students and faculty too. There were times where faculties are fed up of management rules and decisions.

Placement Experience:

1.) Placement begins from the pre-final year and we are allowed to apply for companies from the final year. 2.) Around 70% of the class gets placed in reputed companies with an average CTC of 4-8 LPA. 3.) Along with core biotech companies, many IT companies are also hiring students at a very decent package. 4.) I plan to pursue a master's after this course.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for placements in their final year. Many reputed companies like accenture, TCS, zoho, HCL, etc. visited and many of my friends also got placed with a good package. The highest package from my batch was 50lpa in company called motorq. The average package is around 4lpa.

Placement Experience:

The students become elgible for placements right from the 5th semester of their course work. The students who have no standing arrears become elgibile in the first place. There are many companies visiting the college where Infosys, Cognizant, Virtusa are the mass recruiters. The are many other companies like TCS, Wipro, Zoho etc. visiting the college placement drive. On overall 90% of students gets placed every year. The highest package of 25lakhs per annum was offered by amazon for 3 students. My plans after getting degree is to get placed in any of the company.

It's a good college for me.

Placement Experience:

From final year students and 3rd-year students eligible for attending the campus placements in this campus so many companies are there like Wipro, wheels India, so many IT companies in this average package starting as 18000 to 40000 students should have a minimum percentage of 6.80cgpa eligible for placement I completed the degree I got a placement on IT company.

because of future is EV. So I will take the EEE for a bright future 50:1 ratio level. Faculty qualification is a minimum PG and most of the faculties are complete Ph.D. each unit has a unit test it is very easy only No difficulty to get a pass.

Balanced Engineering Journey At Vit Chennai

I applied for SRM, once considered admission in LPU but finally chose VIT due it's reputation and strong placements. Other colleges which I applied for required strong jee scores for admission. Admission process in VIT is as follows:- 1) write VITEEE exam cause vit doesn't considers jee scores. 2) you must have above 60 percent in boards and above or equal to 60 percent in PCM aggregate. 3)cutoffs, past papers, closing and opening ranks are not revealed si can't say much regarding that. 4) overall admission experience was decent...Read More

Is VIT worth it

From th start of the 12th class I wanted IIT and my second option was VIT over NITs because it has very good facilities. I didn't get good marks in my JEE advance so I choose VIT. I had given exams of various other colleges like Kalinga Insititute of technology(KIT), SRM, BITSAT etc. i chose VIT as my college was because it is one of the most renowned colleges of India. VIT has a tag value of its own and it does make a difference if you add "VIT" as your college in your resume. The admission process of this college goes by giving an examination called VITEEE which is held after jee mains. The syllabus for the same is similar to jee mains and the good thing is it has no negative marking. All 12th pass students with a minimum of 60% are eligible to write this entrance test.
