Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course I study is life scienses which is a program course and includes 3 subjects - botany, zoology, chemistry... I chose this subject Because of the options it will provide me once I graduate... There will be many fields open for me as compared to any zoology or botayn hos student The main application for this course is I thing is - it will prepare u well for any govt exam and govt exam ask more than 1 subject... Also the research option is always open for you... Doing masters in various fields is an option too... If you aren't sure after 12th science which subject u should go with.. Life sciences is perfect as it allows u to study those subjects for another 3 year and then decide for yourself I guess the only improvement it needs is the allow us some spare time... The subject we get are very heavy and tough for any undergraduate student.. And studing all 3 at the same time with a hectic timetable becomes difficult for us The exam levels are neutral.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

There are a lot of internship opportunities available in the college... Every year a internship fair is conducted by our PLACEMENT CELL..in which companies come and look for intern and during this time many people go for internship.... U can also apply for internship under your professor only and under professor from other colleges too.. For a first year student.. It is mostly unpaid.. But u can earn once u are in 2nd Or 3rd year U will have to do internship on the topic u chose... Eg.. I chose to work under my zoology professor and it was to study about a specific fish and it's respiratory system... We used to work after the college hours and it was of 6 months.. Once it was done.. I also got a certificate for it..

Placement Experience

4

Student only get placed whn they are in 3rd year of the college.. Not before that.. Before that... U get internship.. Me being the student of 1st year... I don't know much about college placements I knew that the highest package proposed was 22lakh/ yr amd average package of the college is 6-7lakh/ yr Many student don't get placed from these types of college as the courses offered by the college require further studies and experience... Like msc Or mcom.. That's why only few of them get placed and those who get placed also don't take up the job and go for further studies as that will give them the better future My plan is to get a phd in some topic from zoology only... I will do the masters in animal studies and then go for phd

Fees and Financial Aid

There are scholarship available for economically weaker students... They almost get 90% of their fee back.. So it's good.. And not so much hike in the fees The college takes fees in the range of 1500-25000/ yearly but the problems student and their parents face is the pg rent and flat rent.. The pg/ flats here are very expensive... It will cost u a minimum of 13000-15000 monthly excluding college fees... And delhi being a expensive place... It becomes difficult for a economically weaker student to stay and study here Only 1 scholarship is available for student who are economically weaker.. Not other facility is available.. But the no of intership ee get here is a lot... In first year.. Most of them are unpaid... But as you get to the 2nd and 3rd..they pay you 5000-10000 monthly... And there are a lot of internship opportunities coming and going . There are variety of fields you will get there...from research to financial advisor... Everything is there

Campus Life

3.5

There are a lot of fests and events conducted in SVC... Because of so many societies and organisation.... There is atleast 1-2 events/ per week..... In terms of society and events... U will like the college The college library is located in the South part of the college and its building has just been upgraded.... The library has a good number of books and enough for all the 3-4 years u will want to study.. It also has a reading room facility where u can go and read your books or notes or do your work Our class is well equipped with everything... Good amount of benches... Fans and even every class has smartclass now.. So nothing lacks in that field As I said earlier... Due to presence of many societies... There will be many extracurricular activities available for u if u want to participate... Also there is a annual fest called nexus is conducted in which famous celebrities come and perform for us... This year mohin chauhan had come and u can imagine the rush.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

In svc hostel.. Only 150 seats are available... 75 for boys and 75 for girls...i have been a resident of SVC hostel... The room is good enough and is equipped with 2 fans and no ac... We are allowed to keep a cooler during summers... And most of us do... A big table with chair is there in the room... The beds are single bed and enough for a boy of 6 feet... We got food 4 times a day and we also got milk and tea during evening and morning but u can imagine the quality of food given to us... The taste was good... But the heigene and cleanliness is what made me quit hostel and go for PG... We caught insects in our food several times... The milk we got was just water with some milk powder... My experience with hostel was good except for the food. U can register for the hostel once u have taken admission in the college and we have to submit it online once the notice comes... The hostel charger us 44000 and then 28500 for the rest... First time they take some annual charger.

Admission

Only eligibility is that u study the subject till 12th .. Like I had botany / zoology / chem so I had sciences in my 12tg..so I was eligible. U can get into this college by giving cuet exam and as this collefe comes under delhi university..and there are other college available.. U will get here through the priority list of college u set yourself in thr csas portal I am a general so I got no reservation This cuet exam is held once in a year around the months of June -July and they ask you basic question you have studied in your 12th .... If u have read ncert thoroughly.. U won't face much difficulty in getting here The only place it felt complicated was making your priority list for college under delhi university.. It becomes difficult for us to compare college and then assign it a number in the list... I thing DU should provide us with this list comparing the placement fees cost of study etc.

Faculty

3.5

There are different seating capacity for each cource.. In courses like zoology(H) , botany(H), there are like 40-45 students which is a good number... But in some courses like bsc(P) life sciences and bcom hons.. There are like 150 students divided into 2 section so each section gets 70-80 studetns which becomes tough for the professor to manage... The teachers are well approachable but being a college which is alligned to TTD... Faculties are mostly from South india.. And you will see some biasness for the South students from the teachers.... It's not like I( from North india) face some type of discrimination or something... But people from South do get the advantage... They even speak malayalam / telugu to ask ques from the teachers during their teaching time and teachers replies in the same language... Thats something which doesn't feel good.. But the teachers if u approach are friendly and do provide us with important intership and skills

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum consists of relatable topics and interesting ones as well this is what quite influenced me to take this course. We have labs which help us learn how to prepare various organic compounds which are used in many day to day products . The course also has a 4th year research program. There should be more equipments in lab for the research. The frequency is good for exams being conducted and there level is also quite good

Placement Experience:

The students become eligible for the placements provided by the college in their 3rd year, while they can pursue internship offered by the college in previous years. Average sized companies visited the campus with lots of students being placed for jobs. The highest package I am not aware of but lowest was of around 300000 pa. I plan to pursue masters after my graduation degree.

Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th semester. I don't know a lot about campus placements but I know that there is a training and placement cell in our college that provides good packages to many students. Some students got more than 7lpa last year. I will be doing my Post graduation after college and will make a career in academics.
