Course Curriculum Overview

4

The main reason I chose this course was because it's high demand and I really wanted to find a good job in the healthcare sector and I really felt physiotherapy can do wonders in treating patients as I've seen many recover and get back to their normal lifestyle after physiotherapy. The practical classes were great and taught us how to interact with patients who are in pain and helped us since the first year we had clinical training posting so we had an amazing awareness of how to deal with patients the moment we entered internship. I feel that the classes could have been a little shorter around 45 mins since one hour feels too long to concentrate. Teachers can share more handwritten notes or self made PDFs for better understanding. And subjects like statistics could be a little easier since the exams were a bit hard. We had just two main exams per annum and two Internals per semester. Exams were 3 hours in duration. And most of the exams were basically stuck to the lecture that was taken.

Internships Opportunities

5

No, a stipend was available during the internship and we visited NIEPMED for a neuro-internship, and sports we went to the YMCA, for pediatrics we went to a DMD school, and for all the departments we had our own hospital OPD and IP patients. We had one project to do at the end of the course before the internship.

Placement Experience

4

Only after the internship that is the 9th semester students are eligible for campus placement. Physiomax and a few other clinics in the surroundings reached out for placements. The highest package for a fresher was around 25000. 20 percent of the students have received placements in my batch. I am planning on pursuing my higher education.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees are usually raised each year as per the demand of this course but I feel it's really affordable when compared to other colleges. Everything cost me around 7-8 lakhs in total along with the money spent for the project. There is a free education scheme present at the college for Tamil students and also Agaram is sponsoring almost 20 students per batch. We had an unpaid internship of 6 months that helped us to learn a lot.

Campus Life

5

We had many fests to start from we had shuru which was a fest for the freshers to help them mingle well and socialize as they entered. We had the medical fest named Milan usually held in November and it was great. And we have Aarush fest that has so many celebrities coming in. We have a Library in each department and also have a huge library in the university building that has all the books up to the new versions. Every classroom has a projector for classes to be taken via slideshow. We have an annual sports meet and it's an interesting college and we also have a ROM physiorun marathon that has made it to the world record. We have many music bands and dance clubs.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

We had a single cot with a cupboard and an attached restroom within the room, we had two fans in each room with a window. The food was great at the hospital compared to other places it was hygienic and we had a lot of varieties to choose from. The hostel was affordable and security was really good the registration happens along with the admission process. I stayed at a PG nearby named Royal women's hostel in Guduvancherry and it was great and really affordable.

Admission

It requires your 12th grade with a minimum of 75 percent with PCMB or pure science combination The application forms can be found online as well as offline at the university building. There was mainly one exam per semester along with two internals hence per year there were two semesters and in the span of four years, there were a total of 8 semesters, where the internship was the 9th one which had a viva for the scoring. All the exams were of moderate level of difficulty and only some of the externals were harsh but our lectures had our back. The admissions for medical College could have a seperate building I feel to make it easier.

Faculty

4.5

Our department has much well-experienced staff and the ratio was decent as there were at least two substitutes for the main lecturer. The lectures were really open to questions and used to spend a lot of time to explain us the topics even during the lockdown period I feel they put their maximum efforts into reaching us we'll. The teachers were available to us all the time during breaks and free hours.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The physiotherapy has a wide range of opportunities after completing the bachelors either you can go for masters or work at hospital as physiotherapy or you can be working as an independent physio and treat the patients at their home, or you can start a clinic and can manage that. The physiotherapy is growing field that has a good future . You'll be good physio if you diagnose your patients correctly, if you follow the doctors prescription you will be technician. In this college the patients are less and the teaching quality is worst , you'll need to work at clinics to get a idea about everything. The college only teaches theory but not practicals

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was get to know about the improvement of the field of physiotherapy. Then I saw doctors can cure the cause but physiotherapist can rehab the patients and make the patients to live on their own. Physiotherapist are called as the muscle doctors. This made me to choose this course. The curriculum prepares us like teaching how to treat the patients and how to convince the patients and how to interact with them. So before treatimg the patients first we should have a well knowledge about the disease and subjects and basic anatomy. So they teach us very well and train us very well to give treatment to the patients. The exam are conducted 3 months once as 3 internals in the college and 1 university examination at the end of the year.
