Memories at Vijaya college

Like most of them, Vijaya has its own brand. It is located in best possible places available, which makes students and parents opt for it. Jayanagar is nearby as well. There are the lot of colleges in and around south end and jaynagar but then Vijaya has very good merit admission process wherein the minimum of 70% should be there to get onboard to college. As it was reputed, I opted for it.

Curriculum is balanced with lots of extra curricular activities with several fests alongside..It was complete external marks for us, where there was no scope for internal marks all such..Our paper was evaluated by Bangalore University.. Curriculum can be made even more strict with adding on few more presentation and assignments,which I feel now as a big let out..

Internships-Few things where the placement cell if Vijaya can be improvised and also more tinkering should be done, they are least bothered about internships. Students usually find it themselves but then few lecturers even provide few networks where they can find one. But student's ain't get one from placement cell. Please forget about stipend and all such words. Quality of internship needed isn't been taken into consideration. More things need to be altered here..

As I have mentioned in the previous update regarding internships same goes with that of placements,but then there would be mega job fair conducting in campus.. Few companies visited though for campus.. TCS would be highlighted with bold shade,as this was only on tier1. Rest all was more so towards BPO like concentric,HGS and IBM Voice process was there too.. Keeping all these aside few auditing firm do visit for campus. Salary range would be 1.7lcs pa -2.2lcs pa.. They should encourage more companies visiting college and ensure students get their worth as well..

In Vijaya, there are always some are the other events being held. Where do I start with? NSS, NCC, Science club, Commerce club,? Every year they conduct fests wherein a large number of college would participate, during our course, we had organized "Vinyasa" fest. More than 15 colleges had participated... NSS blood camp would be arranged every 6 months..so that many are being benefited and NCC students have got a lot of admiration in our institute

Fee structure is being adjudged based on categories of the students.. For general category it is 38,000 per year including all the examination fees,library fees and sports fee. For 2A,2B category it ranges from 16000-18000 per year. For SC/ST it was 8500 per year.. But then for management seats it is 55000-65000 per year. It's feasible when compared to Jain or either Christ, but when we think about the placement Oppurtinies they provide it is expensive..

There isn't any loan facility offered by a college, but then they provide a lot of opportunities for deserving top students with many scholarships for subject toppers as well as those who score 100/100 all su h. Apart from students of specific categories also get the scholarship from the government.

Unfortunately, there aren't any hostel facilities for the students on the campus, as most of them are from Bangalore itself. Hardly few come from other localities, but then when I take canteen into consideration it isn't that good. It can be taken care in a better way with cost-effective dishes for students as well..

Every year they conduct alumni meet, where in most of the aluminates would celebrate in a grand manner, where they share their experiences and growth Oppurtinies in respective field and also they are approachable for all the juniors as well.. It is highly appreciable.. This year aluminates of Vijaya who attended the event was cricketer Venkatesh Prasad, MLA Harris were few familiar names.

As exams are being conducted by the Bangalore University board most of the things are taken care by the university but as of now after our batch, many things have changed there is internals now,40 marks are being judged by college faculties. It is being decided based on internal scores and the attendance percentage of the student.

I got through merit, as I had 81% in my Puc.I was able to get through via merit. It was an added advantage as I studied my Puc also from the Vijaya institute.. There would be two lists of merit shortlist updated and later all other seats would be under management quota.

The best thing about Vijaya is their faculties,most of them are experienced,they deliver each and every lecture with utmost quality.. They are Friendly and also strict at the same time.. They are easily approachable and they do assist students in every tasks,events and fests too.. They are an integral part of the institution..
