Likes
- Safe environment - Because JMC is an all girls college, me and my friends always felt safe.
- Friendly faculty - The teachers were very kind and understanding and very frank. If we had to get any rescheduled due to long gaps, they wild agree to do so very easily.
- Good Canteen - The canteen and the food itself were very hygenic and the food was priced at very nominal rates.
Dislikes
- No air conditioner- There are no air conditioners in classrooms except in the library and the lab, however at such a low fee structure you cannot expect air conditioned classrooms
- Slow office response - as with any college the college office takes a lot of time to provide you with any documents.
Course Curriculum Overview
Most of the subjects in Bcom Honours are pretty relevant if you wish to get into accounting and auditing fields. The concepts are really elaborately taught do that it not only helps you in your further studies but also help you in real life. For example filing an ITR, GST etc. However a few additional subjects like digital marketing are just for namesake, nothing practical is really taught in those subjects.
Internships Opportunities
The internship opportunities are mostly average, the companies are not well known however I've 1-2 friends who landed an internship offer and converted it into a good paying full time job. Applying for internships through websites like internships and linkedin is recommended for better opportunities.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for campus placements from their 5th semester. The companies that visited this year included Deloitte, Bain & Co., BCG, Zomato, Genpact, KPMG, Pwc, ICICI bank, Tophire etc. Highest average package was 14LPA and the average package is 6LPA. Roles offered for Bcom students were - Audit associate, Hrs, Marketing, Account Manager, Customer Support Associate, etc. I plan on finding a job off campus.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure varies from 15000 to 21000 till your last year. This includes services like lab amenities, library, sports facilities, etc. Highly prestigious companies like Deloitte, Zomato, Bain and Co., BCG etc. come for placement with an average salary package of 6LPA.
Campus Life
Jmc has events and fests all year round. You can enroll into various college societies like the music club, Corporate cell, marketing society, placement cell and a lot more and gain experience of hosting events through those societies. Jmc also conducts it's annual fest Montage where famous artists like Jubin Nautiyal has performed preciously. You can access course books from the library easily and return it by the end of your semester. You can enhance your college life by getting into 2-3 college societies including Enactus, 180 Dc, MIC, Echo etc. and enlarge your social circle as well and meet new people apart from your class. The football team and of JMC is very well known for winning awards oin various competitions.
Admission
For bcom hons, you should have compulsorily opted for mathematics in class 11th and 12th. The Application Forms can be found in JMC's website unlike other DU colleges. You need to choose 3 courses as per your preferences, and depending on your percentage the college will allot you a course if you're eligible for any of the 3.
Faculty
The faculty in JMC is highly qualified, they've completed their education from top b schools and are very efficient in taking student's feedbacks. Their teaching mechanisms are really effective and help you grasp concepts really quickly. Due to their frank nature approaching them for any doubt clearing session is very easy. A lot of the teachers are very young, hence having a conversation with them is like talking to a friend.
