Full of opportunities

Some south Indian professors are partial towards south students specially tamilians.

Had two options one of them is SRM as it has decent fees structure and high placement rate with lots of opportunities. And with my rank in SRMJEEE I was getting the branch of my choice with the decent fee. All facilities are available in the campus itself.

Institute follows the flexible credit system it means after 1st year one can select the courses according to his/her interest. In most of the department, professors are engaged in research projects and students have the opportunity to work with them by maintaining their academics.

Institute organize events for student and company interaction to provide the best opportunities for internships but the institute doesn't provide any stipends.

In 2018 we got more then 90% placement except branches like mechanical and civil. Got a record job offers of 3000 in a single day. Mass recruiting companies like TCS give a min package of 3.7 lac to companies like Amazon and Microsoft with 20 to 39 lac packages.

I am from ECE department, in each sem we have to submit a mini project which is made by using knowledge gained from practical labs. Bid fests like Technical fest AARUSH on September and Cultural fest MILAN on the march are organized and other than these so many small fests and event are organized from time to time.

Tuition fees are 2.5 lac and 3.5 lac based on the branch opt and rank. 3 sharing Hostel room and mess fee for non ac with separate bathrooms 1.05 lac and for ac it is from 1.8 to 2.3 lac, each hostel building has a maximum of 9 floors. Girls hostels are with 2 sharing rooms and hostel fee is 20 to 30 thousands more.

Students with a rank below 1000 in SRMJEEE are provided with scholarships. Almost all bank personals are present on the campus on the day of enrollment with loan offers.

Gender ratio boy/girl is 10/3. You will encounter Students from all parts of the country even form places like Kashmir, Assam, Indians from Arab countries and students from Africa and Nigeria. Different technical clubs are presents to which one can join by giving an entrance exam at the starting of 1st and 2nd year and learn a lot from seniors.

Hostels are available with 3 sharing for boys and 2 sharing for girls. It also has a laundry facility. Cleaning is done once a day for rooms and bathrooms. Hostel rooms can be booked only by the means of online booking which has to be done each year. Mess food, breakfast is great each day but the lunch, snacks, and dinner are decent.

Senior culture is not present in SRM, one can easily approach any senior for help that's why ragging is also not possible, I not even heard a single case of ragging in our campus in my first year it sounds fake but you will trust me when you came to our campus.

The first year is little hectic. From 2nd-year lab, courses are reduced to 2 or 3 which increases free hours. In each sem. we have 1 CT exam each month which are conducted with regular classes, one model practical exam before university exam then ends sem. Exam and university practical exam.

The online Application form is released near Feb and march. And the exam is conducted in April and the first week of may and the applicant got to choose the date according to there convince, marks are displayed at the end of the exam. Rank and Date for seat enrollment is allowed a week before.

All faculties are Ph.D. holders. Almost all of them use their own notes and ppts for lectures. One can contact the professors for doubts using the Wisopt app and WhatsApp class groups. In my department, most of the facilities are engaged in different research projects funded by gov. and institute.
