Course Curriculum Overview

3

I wanted to choose CSE in AIML but I got to know that there isn't much difference from just CSE and the faculty in AIML subject is very new in the teaching field. So I opted for CSE. The curriculum is just enough to face the real world. But the college puts extra time to hold seminar and bring in faces from different fields and even our alumnus to give us exposure to the real world. Suggestion: removal of irrelevant subjects and focusing more on the core subjects along with classes to develop communication and leadership skills, which done by our college . That is a huge plus point from my side.As our college is affiliated to MAKAUT, I would suggest to update curriculum to international standards and this will directly help us to prepare ourself for the world and not just our nation. The timing of the even semester exam (2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th) is pretty messed up. The MAKAUT set the dates for our exams. As I mention earlier about the time period we get for our preparation for 2nd sem.

Internships Opportunities

2.5

From what I have heard, Internship opportunities are provided by the college from 3 year, but we can do on our own from from anytime onwards. The placement cell will organise these and students can get stipend based on their performance. This depend mostly on the companies. I don't have much information on this.

Placement Experience

4

What I have gained from the seminars hosted by the Placement Cell of our college is that, they will give their 100% to bring as many companies possible and provide placement as long as students maintain their academic record and develop their skills. But getting a single backlog paper in any semester can can hinder in the process of getting placement. And what I've heard from senior is that, the placement Cell will prepare you for the interview as long the students can clear the previous rounds.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college fees is just okay considering as it is just a tier 3 PRIVATE college. I've not heard about any scholarship provided by th college for the B.Tech department. But many 3rd party provide scholarship in association with college based on merit. Per semester cost 83000 rupess without any exclusions. Our West Bengal government provides scholarship (SVMCM) Academic Qualification:Higher Secondary Level: Students must have passed the Madhyamik (10th) or equivalent examination with at least 75% marks.Undergraduate Level: Students must have passed the Higher Secondary (12th) or equivalent examination with at least 75% marks.Postgraduate Level: Students must have secured at least 53% marks in graduation (general education) or 55% in engineering.Family Income:The annual family income of the applicant should not exceed ?2.5 lakhs.

Campus Life

5

I am happy about the fact no one will get a stuck feeling as there are many events held very frequently. Many drives are help from the NSS (National Service Scheme) UNIT of our college. Tech festivities, hardware/software competitions, hackathons . These are most held during September, November, December, March, April, May. Many other cultural fests are also held during the specifics periods. And finally annual programs are hosted once in a year around April-May. Sports event in organised around March where most of the common athletic and sport events like track and field event, basketball, cricket, football, badminton, volleyball are held

Admission

Admission proces is very smooth as long as you have all the documents, it can be done within 1 day. I have no reservation (General Catagory) As I mentioned the the exams earlier as well. I will continue here. The exam timing for even semester is very poor. The time we get for the completion of the syllabus is very less which makes a rush to just complete it. The question paper setting is very poor as well. In 1st semester, the Basic Electrical Engineering subject, the paper setting was very poor. 70-80% questions came from a single chapter instead of proper allocation from othe units.

Faculty

4

The faculty-student ratio is just average to any 3-tier colleges. Most of the faculties have great approach to teach and mentorship. I have been blessed with a great mentor who not help helps in college affairs but also our personal affairs. We can interact easily with our professors easily. They help us whenever they are free. Like if we need help in some subject, we can ask them in their free time and they happily help us.

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
