Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Studying medicine is indeed one of the most difficult course to pursue as an undergraduate. The new CBME pattern have made it clear for the ug students to have knowledge of certain core competencies and some extra optional competencies Exams are indeed difficult and for pg enternce to revise 19 subjects is a big task

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Internship is mandatory as guided by the nmc for 1year with rotation in each clinical subjects and 3 months of rural posting. Stipend is currently set at 11300 per month but is soon to be increased to 25000

Fees and Financial Aid

The total course fee is around 51k as tution fee. The hostel is available at 3500 per year for the undergraduates. Internship stipend is now set at 11300 but is to be increased to around 25k in the following year.

Campus Life

4

The college has a large central library which can accomodate around 300-400 students. Sports week is held every year in oct-nov with almost every sport included. Regular programmes, fests are organised Cultural events are also frequent There is however lack of proper clubs like sports music etc

Admission

Admission process is pretty simple You obviously require to clear neet and be selected in the counselling conduced by the jkbopee for mbbs admission in j&k. Dob certificate 12th marksheet Neet admit and score card Domicile are required

Faculty

4

Faculty to student ratio is good especially in clinical departments but students hesitate to ask or approach the faculty. Clinical departments are overworked and faculty doesn't have much time for teaching having such huge patient load

Course Curriculum Overview:

I Chose MBBS by my choice The more the practical and clinicals u perform the better u understand things rather than books . Real life experience is important I think what should be improved is that focus should be more on things that are more important for being a doctor. More towards clinical aspects more towards practical performance and less on things needed to cram Timing for exam of 80 mark is 3 hrs and is quite good enough time. 20 marks are of mcqs so total 100 mark.
