Course Curriculum Overview

5

Im really not into mathematics and science my hobbies and strong catch was always on literature subjects and speaking and when I had completed my 10th I was always searching for the course where my intrest was lying and I finally found Journalism. The curriculum of this particular field is really practical and always prepares you for field . There is no such rocket science applied to this course . This particular field moulds the students to be always prepared for field experiences. And if we talk about the examinations here in our college this paper was held yearly which really gave us time to prepare for more better results.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

In my field I had an internship with a local news channel and Facebook channel named Utkal mail and The voicescope respectively. The also provide with SAIL rourkela internship opportunity to the students in second year.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college fees is 60000 yearly and in 3years undergraduate course the total sum is 1,80,000. There are scholarship provided to the toppers and a seperate scholarship to the sc/st caste students. In the first years of my undergraduate course I was given the opportunity of internship in which I earned a stipend of 7500 in 1 month , the stipend really depends on the respected company as well as the work provided by an intern.

Campus Life

3

Ashtaprahari is the main cultural programme held in our college and is famous in our locality. The college superiority lies in its cultural programme. Ganesh puja , saraswati puja, and Lakshmi Puja is celebrated here in a grand way that is organised by the college with the participation of students. Talking about the library, the library is full and loaded with abundance of books. About the technological provisions within the classroom there is no such upgrade and this is the point where college is lacking behind. Sports and extracurricular activities are held in a grand way.

Admission

The eligibility criteria for this particular BJMC course is the student must be 10+2 pass with minimum 40%. You can the other details about the college, application and admission process in their respective webpage named as rimsedu.ac.in. . Faculty

4.5

Basically I am from Bachelor's of Journalism and mass communication so my class strength is only 8 because people are not knowing much about this course but here with 8 students, faculty had a seperate approach for each and every student and they always suggest what is better for and what not. Personal guidance always helps one to grow further.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements from the 5th semester onwards. Companies like Adfactors, PR Hub, Value 360, etc, typically visit offering various roles. The highest package could be around 8lakhs depending on the company and role. Approximately 70 to 80% of students secure placements. And plan after getting the degree is to continue my post-graduation, I aspire to pursue further studies and join a reputed firm to gain experience.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course mainly because I was passionate about writing. This course gives good exposure to different career opportunities, not only in television but also in radio. Fluency in English is one of the many benefits of this course. The faculty to students ratio is well maintained as per the official guidelines (1:35). All the papers have specialized teachers. The faculty members are friendly and well be informed about the subject. They encourage all the students to develop skills. The assignments given by them are quite interesting. To sum it up, you get one of the best faculties available for this course. The semester-end exams are held every 4 months and there are assignments and internal assessments between that. The exams are quite easy to pass, just a thorough knowledge of the subject is required. You would mostly be asked questions to test your understanding of the subject.

Placement Experience:

For getting placements, I need to atleast reach the end of the 3rd year of my college. I've just started my 2nd year now. However, my seniors, have perfectly gotten good placements at really fine places. To date, I've done atleast 3 internships in my 1st year of colllege, all provided by BGU. A good number of students are really brilliant and talented and hence the percentage of students getting well-placed crosses a really fine line.
