It's not worth the fees and expectation of it's name.

The college management is not cooperative. The generally take decisions and create restrictions for us that we generally tend to hate.

I had to opt the college because I was out of choices and the this college would be my last preference. I wanted to take computer science and engineering, but my ranks for JEE and other colleges did not satisfy the requirement, so I couldn't get in. But scoring in SRMJEEE is simple.

The course curriculum is not up to date as of most colleges in India and we as software development majorly focus on theory that is the complete opposite of what we should do. The course should have a lot of practical work which we do not have. A few things are accurate while the other teachings are just too outdated. We are not industry ready.

No, our college does not provide internship. We are told to do a compulsory internship at the end of 4th semester which we have to find online or via contacts.

For the current years the placements have been higher that the last year average and is progressing. The college makes you to complete a course of placement training where you work on your skills in Apptitude as well as coding. We generally feel it's a good thought but is a bit of a waste of time as it doesn't provide any extra knowledge.

We have 2 major fests held in the college, namely AARUUSH and MILAN. aaruush is the tech fest organized by students and is also a student run organization and fest. Milan on the other hand is a cultural fest of the college and is organized by the college with the organization DSA. It is the directorate of student affairs which is made by the college.

The fee is really expensive. We have the tuition fee of 2 lack 15 thousand. This does not include the hostel, while the hostel fee is 1 lack. In total a 3rd year student pays 3 lack and 15 thousand. Other than that if we take admission in management quota we pay the fees at a higher rate.

The college provides and ample amount of scholarships to students. The top 100 rankers get a lot of scholarships while the scholarship lists goes down till 5000 rank.

The gender ratio of boys to that of girls is more towards the boys and the extracurricular activities are just not that supported. We don't get to play in a team via normal selection, only the sports quota students represent the college. We are mostly unaware of any competitions that take place around us.

The hostel and mess according to me is at a rating of 2 out of 10. The rooms are really not appropriate to the price we pay and the facilities provided is very minimal. We are given a cot, cupboard, a table and a chair. The mess food is really bad. It may feel good at first but later the menu repeats for a year long and quality of food degrades too.

The alumni network is really good and is maintained by the students themselves. They are really helpful in guiding us and mentoring us. They also bring in internship offers for us.

There are presently 3 internal exams, we name it as Class test(CT). They start from the month of August and is also conducted in September and October. The CT1 corresponds to 10 CT2 to 15 and CT3 to 15 marks. With this we also have the system of Surprise Test(ST) which is of 5 marks and the Assignment which is 5 marks too. The semester is of 100 marks which is converted to 50.

We gave a test on basis of which we got ranks which further decided your time slot for counseling. Here counseling will be paying part of your fees in advance with the department you wish to select. After that you will be asked for hostel accommodation. On completing the process you get admission and will be called for formalities like collection of ID card and hostel confirmation.

The faculty at SRM do not have knowledge of the subjects they teach. For someone who really wants to learn have to find YouTube as your mentor, here the teacher will just give you marks for the story you write in the paper. Maths teachers do posses proper knowledge but other teachers of our department give marks for free because the teachers don't know if it's correct or not.
