Remarks
It's not as bad as it might have sounded. But if you have any other option than this you might consider that option.
Entrance Preview
Firstly, I chose this college because it is a government college. It was near to my home at an easily reachable distance. Also, the institution provided engineering in Computers in which I was interested in. Then, being a governmental institute I heard from other people that the education here is good and most of the students get placed.
Course Curriculum Overview
B. Tech is generally a course of 4 years. With almost 48 subjects and 25 lab courses. The course curriculum is easier than I expected and a bit different than other colleges with which I compared to. The curriculum covers all the important aspects of engineering.
Internships Opportunities
College on its own behalf does not provide any internship. But students are encouraged to get internships from other sources.
Placement Experience
A number of companies come to the Institute for placement. These may include Wipro, HP, Infosys and some other companies too. Also, students are sent to other colleges too for placement drives. A number of students do get placed. But the packages are not a high as one might have thought of.
College Events
Teacher's Day, Fresher's, Farewell, A 4-Day Fest, Sports Meet, Annual dinner, Independence Day, Surgical Strike Day, Engineer's Day, Foundation Day, Plantation Day. A lot of events are celebrated in our Institution. Also, Quizzes and competitions are also celebrated in the Institution.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The Fee Structure of the Institution is rather expensive as compared to any other government Institute but on the other hand, it is similar to any common private Institute. The fee of a student falls up to 50k per semester. Which though fluctuates but rounds around 50k.
Fees and Financial Aid
No scholarship or loan facility is provided by the institution which I'm aware of. But if any student does get any scholarship on their own, they are highly admired.
Campus Life
The campus of UIIT as an institution isn't big but contains just a single 5-floor building. But considering the whole campus of HPU, the campus increases too much. Campus life of the institution isn't fast or happening. It's a dull campus life tbh. Gender Ratio is probably a 7:3 boy to girl ratio. Though there are various extracurricular activities and most of the labs are in excellent condition. Sport is an important part of students here and Sports Day and Sports Meet are also celebrated in the institution.
Hostel Facilities
UIIT as in itself does not provide any hostel facility. But a student can Apply for the HPU hostel. Which are difficult to get due to a high number of students applying for the hostels. Most of the students are paying guests or rent a room. Though the mess food of the hostel ain't that good as one might hope for.
Alumni/Alumna
Every 2 years or so some of the alumni revisit the institution and give a speech about their college life and the options we have in the future and the paths we can follow for a bright future.
Exam Structure
The Exam Structure of UIIT is a rigid one and is well defined. There are 2 minors in a single semester whose marks are kept in a record and are added in internal Marks. The Semester Exam Question papers are made by the professors not associated with the University and also are checked outside the University.
Admission
The Admission procedure of the institute is a simple one. The institute conducts an entrance exam and I filled out the form. Then according to the meeting list, streams are given. I got as many Marks as needed to get admission in the institute. Meanwhile, my name was called out for joining the Institute, I paid the fees of the institute.
Faculty
Most of the faculty of the institute are old and have loads of knowledge. With a worthy teaching experience, we get to learn a lot from them. Dinner of the faculty members are not as experienced as the others but are well educated and well trained. But still, the number of unexperienced faculty members exceed the others.
