Remarks
Overall its good I will rate my college 8/10 just the mess food is not so good and not satisfying.
Entrance Preview
After reading all the reviews about SRM University Kattankulathur I got a well good impression about its all India rank and especially a healthy placement which made it overall better than many nits in the nation. Talking to some of its students I got to know that some people gave wrong informations on the net about its WiFi service its bad facilities but nothing is true everything was found great here except a problem of bad mess food which is never liked by any student.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is great just there is one fault that you will have exams every month for a week but the good point is there are only 4 subjects and the syllabus is helpful and not so long you will get question banks before exam and questions will come from that only which makes your preparation easier.
Internships Opportunities
Yes, the college provides internship in the 3rd year which depends upon the basis of marks scored by students. I m not aware of it deeply as I m a fresher.
Placement Experience
Placements are awesome. Average package remains to be 4.5 lakhs per annum and the highest package goes to 40 lakhs per annum and what I must say is that very very good companies will come and give opportunities it's just that you have to be active in your college life and grab those opportunities.
College Events
Once you come in the college there will be fests and events for you every week like the life will be really very happening and then comes the tech fest a rush which is really good as a tech fest and great cultural events are also there. The cultural fest Milan is the 5th best cultural fest of colleges in India which is enough to inform that it is one of the best fests. Also, we have mun and many other things.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is 2.5 lakhs per annum for a student like me who grabbed a seat for management quota it's 3.5 lakh per annum or 4 lakh per annum may be which is really very expensive but if you grab a seat then it's not too expensive according to the kind of college life present here.
Fees and Financial Aid
Yes, there are scholarship and loan facilities once you come for counseling they will tell you about the loan and once you get your result you will come to know about your scholarship.
Campus Life
Campus life is really great here. The kind of campus the kind of people the seniors different clubs and activities and so many events it all makes you to open your self and build yourself. The gender ratio in part of engineering its 7:1 for boys: girls you won't find many girls in engineering college dude and diversity here are students from every state of India. There are 1000s of extracurricular and sports activities going on continuously they pause once the sem exams are near. There are many tech teams and clubs like beeclust mrst a great lab for robotics which I m a part of and other racing teams like etros, elecruisers, camber racing, infi alpha hyperloop and many more.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facilities are OK I will say 8/10 the beds are good fan electricity supply and leniency to have fun is also good. But I must mention that the mess food is not at all good I will rate it 4/10 it's not good in taste you will only find sambar and chawal a tasty dish to fill your stomach every day because everything else is not so good in taste
Alumni/Alumna
Senior students are great they are very helpful and alumni are also good. You can enter into clubs to be in touch with good seniors who can make your journey easier.
Exam Structure
Exam structure is quite hectic like there are 2 CT and a final semester exam but the plus point is that syllabus of CT is just a unit and we get notes and question bank from the faculty and the questions come from question banks only so it makes the preparation very easy.
Admission
I gave the exam of srmjeee and secured a rank of 12000 in the country. I was aiming for CSE branch in counselling but my rank was beyond cutoff for any course in CSE so I switched to ECE. There was a nice systematic counseling which divided students on the basis of their ranks.
Faculty
I would say 70% of the faculty are good they have done courses in foreign and other places and have a really good knowledge on their topics but you will find some teachers who discriminate students on the basis of states from where they belong and don't treat everyone equally but as part of teaching every teacher teaches well.
