What Students Say
Likes
- The clubs at PDEU are awesome. There are more than 40 clubs across all disciplines. Festivals are also celebrated with great enthusiasm.
- One more thing I liked very much about the college is the ragging free campus and hostels. There is zero ragging and all the seniors are very friendly. They also have a toll free number in case ragging is seen anywhere.
- The directors of different departments are so greatly qualified and speak very nicely and are full with knowledge. Seniors are also very friendly and these all things together create an environment where the aspiring students thrive.
Course Curriculum Overview
Talking about my course, Computer Science and Business systems, it is designed by the great minds at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). The curriculum is perfect and the time alloted is nice as I get much free time for my extra curriculars and for the clubs.
Internships Opportunities
I haven't get into the internship part by myself yet but I have seen my seniors' LinkedIn accounts and they are doing internships and big companies including JP Morgan, BlackRock, etc etc. Other companies which I have seen my seniors' doing internships from are Google, Microsoft, TCS etc etc.
Placement Experience
Currently I am in my first year and no placement is offered to me. They are telling the placements are very nice and the seniors I am connected to on LinkedIn are doing very good with their academics and internships. So I think that the placements are very good. Also according to official statistics of last year, the highest package through campus placement was around 46 lakhs with is huge.
Fees and Financial Aid
The tuition fee for a sem is 1.4 Lakh rupees for all the eight sems. And one thing is very awesome that other colleges always say 10 to 15 percent hike but here they have guaranteed that the fee wouldn't change and remain the same till the end. Scholarships are also available for the once who had a rank under 20k in JEE Mains. Currently I haven't taken any college employment but I am looking forward to it and there are numerous opportunities.
Campus Life
They have three major fests, one is the main fest, other is the technical fest and third is the three day fest they have in Navaratri, the biggest and the most favourite festival here in Gujarat. They have around 40 clubs filled with so much talent and they also provide sports equipments. The cricket and football grounds are huge. There's also gym and tt table at the hostel. The libraries are massive and have all kind of books available, academic, self help, and most importantly, the genre which isn't there in most of the libraries, Novels of all types.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel is amazing with so much facilities. I would start with the basic ones, clean drinking water, clean hotel-like washrooms, amazing view and so much cleanliness across the whole hostel. The hostel is very affordable with 1.5 lakh per year as fees which includes the message about which I'll talk later and also there 24 x 7 air conditioning. The service is awesome and very fast and no problem goes unsolved. Now I'll talk about the mess. I am a person who lives for food and the food in the mess my god, it's amazing, much better than so much of the restuarants I ate in. Also there's so much varieties each time. They give food four times a day, breakfast, lunch, hi tea, dinner. Also I love coffee and the coffee made from coffee machine here is amazing, one of the best I have had in my life. Also I forgot to mention the hostel has got 3 star rating (in the sense sme hotels have five start ratings)
Admission
The application process was flawless and totally online. I applied through my JEE Mains score and I just had to type in my Percentile and rank and some other details about myself and pay a fees of 200 rupees or something to apply. The cut off for the top branch, Computer Engineering was around 96 percentile. I had 95.05 percentile so I got the second top branch, Computer Science and Business Systems. In case I had got the top branch I was still going to choose this branch as its course is totally designed by TCS, one of the top IT companies all over India. Thankfully they didn't had their own examination and took people in through Mains itself. Also they take admissions through ACPC, or Gujarat board results (same thing).
Faculty
All the faculty members are very friendly and easily approachable. As a matter of fact the topmost directors are also easily approachable. One more thing I would like to add is that the Government of Gujarat, the state where the college is located is also very much helpful and active towards the well being of the students. The director general, Prof. (Dr.) S. Sundar Manoharan, was telling us that he has been a professor in two of the IITs and he hasn't seen anybody from the respective colleges go to the government offices and being at PDEU, he has to do that very often which is a very good and a very important thing. The faculty to student ratio is also nice. Like in our class it's 1:60. One thing I liked very much is the chairs of classroom, the long benches are not there, single chair is for every student and that chair is very comfortable and very premium like, not to mention everywhere there's air conditioning. Infrastructure is also amazing.
